Down from £449, seems a bargain based on the load size, rpm and energy rating.

Seems to have all the features that one would expect such as quick wash etc and has good overall reviews.

Be warned that Indesit washing machines do not fare particularly well at Which?, typically scoring 40-60% (although this particular model hasn't been reviewed), as opposed to Samsungs, that generally score 70-80%.

I bought one of these last month! Happy with it so far, read the instructions about the spin cycles as some are a lot longer than others, had one on for 3 hours accidentally... Washes well and can put loads in, extra spin cycle is great if you haven't already had one with it

I've got an Indesit washing machine I paid £50 for second hand in 2010, so getting on for 5 years ago, and I don't think it can hear me so I'll say this, it's still working fine. I'm screwed if it heard that as it will inevitably break down now.

Twice a day??? Do you have a family of 10 or do you crap your pants, struggling to see how someone would need to wash so much?

The only real gripe Which? had with them is that they are loud. Good price for a 9kg drum though,

Also don't be drawn into the "energy efficient" bull, they are dodgy ratings, the spin and big wash cycles are usually far from their advertised standard!

You can usually count on the spin cycle to remove a decent amount of water from your laundry, reducing the time that clothes will need to spend in a tumble dryer or hanging on a washing line.Cons: What is less consistent across Indesit washing machines is their ability to wash synthetics and rinse clothes of detergent. Some models we've seen have such a poor rinse that they could leave traces of detergent on your clothes.Water and energy use also varies - some models can be wasteful with both electricity and water. If you're after an Indesit, make sure you check our star ratings for energy and water use before you buy.Should I buy one?: Indesit do not have any Best Buy washing machines. While several of the higher-scoring models would be tempting at the right price, if you're planning to spend £300 to £400, you'll be able to find a Best Buy washing machine instead.

Ah, last time I checked was about 6 months ago but I do remember seeing something about bad rinse, and they really moaned about how loud the £199 7kg machine was. IIRC the "best" budget machines are still Bekos.

Indestruct are dreadful, Those that have had them last them have been lucky.

I dont own this model, but I do own an Indesit washing machine.
I bought in May 2006. It still works perfectly.

I own this model had it a few weeks, it's seams to be very good, easy to use, countdown timer is handy, as is the 1 button start. Holds loads and is quiet as hell even on full spin.

I do have one its on the way out after 2 years

I've an Indesit approaching 4 years old this year and still going strong. Don't be put off by the negative comments if you're intending buying one

I had an Indesit washing machine bought in 1997 for the princely sum of £119 it was the cheapest in Currys at the time and bought it as just starting out and needed to be cheap..
It finally died last year..Nuff said I think!

From what I can tell you'll find positive and negative experiences for every brand of washing machine on the market. Our 5 year old Indesit packed up this week and this seems like a fair price for what you get.

If it lasts me 5 years I'll class that as £269.99 well spent.

As Which? points out there are better machines around for a similar price, which offer more features, a better wash and increased reliability.

You pays yer money...

I'm just relaying what Which? says. I haven't got time to look for alternative washing machines but maybe others have.

AO are doing the Beko WMB81241LW for £246, which I'd take above the Indesit any day of the week.. It has an A+++ rating but slightly smaller capacity at 8Kg. Reviews give it 4.7 out of 5.

Or, how about the Beko ECOWMB81445LW at £229? 1400 spin speed, 8kg load and also an A+++ energy rating.

Unfortunately the 9KG load is important to me due to the amount of washing that we get through. Toddlers go through a load of clothes on a daily basis. Thanks though

Wish it'd been £20 less at the time. Overall we are very happy with it and I'd buy it again.

Put it up as a deal, I'll give you heat.
