Spin 1000 not great IMO. Worth paying a bit extra

i've had my indesit for 12 years with no problem but then again it is only 900 rpm spin. very nice price.

Just want to add that this is £229.99 in Argos and the energy consumption and wash performance data: ACA

Consumption and efficiency:
•Capacity of cotton for standard 60° cycle at full load: 6kg.
•Capacity of cotton for standard 40° cycle at full load: 6kg.
•Energy efficiency class A.
•Estimated annual energy consumption: 198kW/year.
•Estimated annual water consumption: 8385litres/year.

Performance:
•Spinning performance rating C.
•Washing performance rating A.
•Maximum spin speed for 60° cotton programme at full load: 1000rpm.
•Remaining moisture content attained for 60° programme: 62%.
•Noise level for washing standard 60° cotton programme: 66dB.
•Noise level for spinning standard 60° cotton programme: 75dB.

You can get a 1100 spinner from Argos for £169.99 plus £8.95 delivery with a £10 voucher

argos.co.uk/m/s…htm

But I wouldn't recommend either ;-)

Link not working, but it's the Beko WM6112 Washing Machine - White. † 764/2131 if you want to check it out.

Apparently it's £130 off

Nice price too but for the extra 100rpm will you really risk buying a cheap brand like Beko. One of my colleagues bought a Beko Frost free fridge freezer a few years back and within 6mths they had to call them out for warranty work twice. In the end they had to argue for a full refund. May be they were unlucky, but personally I will not buy a Beko after hearing that horror story. But it is a good price.

I think in most cases you get what you pay for. Unless you're paying top money for say a Miele most parts are mass produced and used by all the lower end company's. My Hotpoint has Indesit parts for instance.

You are correct I think indesit and hotpoint are part of the same company.

I'd put Beko ahead of Indesit for serviceability to be honest.

Beko parts are cheaper than Indesit, and Beko remain the only budget manufacturer in the industry to not use sealed drums -- this is a massive plus-point, as it means you don't have to replace the entire drum if an object manages to get into the bearings.

Indesit washers also have been (literally) exploding of late -- that's been on Watchdog.

Don't believe me? Look into the brand-name "ISE" -- this was set up by the repair trade specifically to sell a range of washing machines which are easy to repair and source parts for. Their budget washer is a rebadged Beko -- this should tell you all you need to know.

I'm not saying don't buy an Indesit, but this assumption of poor quality from Beko stuff is unfounded.

£1000 for a washing machine, I think I'd rather buy one of these indesit and replace it every every 2 years.

That's only the top of the range unit.

Nice point-missing there BTW.
