Now that the weather is turning my partner & I will be unable to hang out the washing.

Our tumble drier died a horrible death last year.

Anyways. John Lewis is the cheapest for this model & I will be buying it shortly.

Thanks. Amended post
heat added, have the same tumble dryer paid £10 more last year, has been great drying all the baby clothes
thanks op
The only downside is it being vented. Not an issue if that's what you are looking for of course.
Energy rating B
Tumble dryers are usually b or c rated whether vented or condensed. Heat pump dryers are A rated but take an age to dry and are expensive to buy.
for JL use Quidco to get coins for you're bonus....or Avios if you collect through the avios store
Thanks OP. Just ordered one .It will replace our 23 years old Phillips t.d., which still works but is now v. noisy and a little temperamental at times. Heat added
Mine broke down last week, needed it quick as just come of holiday, so I got mine from curry's they were £1 dearer, but could collect straight away, I would have liked the John Lewis deal because of the guarantee but they were quoting 7 days for delivery seems a good dryer and is B rated for efficiency unlike most of the cheaper ones are rated C

Is it true that the heat pump dryers take more time (and energy?) to dry. Need to buy my first dryer before the winter and finding very difficult to decide which type to go for. Any advice will be much appreciated. Thanks.

They take more time but recycle the heat so use less energy. They are more expensive to buy but you'll get your money back easily in running costs.

I'd always have a vented tumble dryer, the last condenser one i had was awful and never dried the clothes properly
Went for this. goes in my garage anyway, so no issues venting
cheers op, looks a good buy for the money

£179 now. Can someone let me know if this dryer is ok. It's a vented one I'm wanting as it's for in my garage. I have an Indesit condenser one which is total pants
I purchased the IDV75BR from Appliances direct before xmas, currently £169. After a month its been working great so far. This model has the sensor drying so it turns off when the clothes are dry. Its vented and I keep it in the garage too.

Have you checked if it is affected by the product safety recall, you might get offered one of the discounted replacements.
