What's the warranty like

Hopeless, the problem with the whole stable of brands that indesit come under is the build quality is terrible but they do give a parts guarantee problem is the labour charges are massive over £100 do what they do is sign you up to insurance which cost slightly more than the labour charge. Ultimately you pay at least an extra £100 a year and for that you could get a machine built better and with longer warranty. Three years down the line your £262 machine costs you £460+ and for that you can get a Samsung, LG, or even a Siemens for the amount you pay in warranty charges. However if you are lonely and need a constant visitor the this is the machine for you.

You'll need a extended guarantee.
Was going to go with a Samsung 8kg for £369.99 with a 5 Yr. Warranty.

Think I will have this and add the 5Yr. Warranty on....works out at £353.99 with delivery. Would like it to cope with duvets.

We bought an indesit washing machine with 1600 spin. We found the clothes were coming out quite wet. We called A.O who sent an engineer out who blamed load distribution. Said heavy towels should only go in together etc....obviously I disagreed with this as I can’t imagine keeping wet towels for a few days to wash altogether.

To be fair A.O agreed and let us choose a different machine even gave us a discount on the new one as it was more expensive. Great service from them but I wouldn’t recommend an indesit machine.
We have the 9kg version of this, & it's been great so far. Had it for just over a year being used at least once a day, but usually twice a day.

The 30c degree wash comes out a bit wet, but that's to be expected as it doesn't spin at 1600 on that setting, only a few of the washes do, it took a few weeks of me reading the manual before each use to realise what washes to use & when compared to my old machine which was much more basic. This is why it has the A+++ rating & a specific woolmark wash too though, because it will wash carefully at lower speeds & temps.

The only thing I would say is that they pester you something silly about the extended warranty. After registering we had a call every week until I blocked the number & they still send letters out every couple of months, used to be every month. I never take extended warranties on anything that I can likely fix, in fact the only thing I've ever taken a warranty out on is a car & the TV. In both cases it was needed & saved us cash at some point, but, generally speaking, washers & dryers aren't difficult to replace parts on yourself, so there's no real saving to be had. Oven thermostats are another one, a fifteen minute job needing no special skills, a screwdriver, & a £25 part compared to a couple of hundred on a warranty. Madness.

I have had on for 5 years with no problems so far because of the spin speed I think it’s well built . Been a landlord we buy a lot of machines and the cheaper ones we buy for student flats last 1 or 2 year before breaking down. One thing I noticed clothes need a extra spin most of the time as spin speeds on certain programs is 800 speed I’m sure you can overuse this but can’t be bothered reading the instructions

I think you are making a big mistake Samsung far superior brand. Hotpoint/indesit have shocking customer service
Got a kitchen full of Indesit/Hotpoint stuff. At £270, if it does you three years, that's £90 a year for something that will be used probably every other day. If it does kick the bucket, I'll just get another rather than throwing money after it. That said they attempted to sell the warranty again the other night and it was circa £6 a month (still not interested given the comparatively low price of a new machine)

Sadly (from an environmental perspective) think most tech is destined to be thrown out these days rather than repaired.

I would pay extra for the Samsung

(Indesit/Hotpoint and Whirlpool are all the same company which I would avoid)
INSTRUCTION MANUAL

Ours is just out if warranty and a shocker it's started to sound rough as hell when spinning. Bearings by the sounds of it. Might give this brand a miss
Avoid Hoover, please i beg anyone reading this.
There are plenty of fire warnings against Indesit and the whole of the indesit stable. Yet Indesit, hotpoint etc continue to sell substandard rubbish for whoever thinks this is a good price. This is not a good price. It is a poor product froma disreputable company.
I had an indesit recently, 9kg 1600 spin. lasted just over a year... When I bought a Zanussi replacement the delivery guy said they pick up and dispose of Indesit more than any other washing machine. Would never go near them again..
Do these do finance?
