Burning deal

As with Hotpoint, these machines are poor quality, make sure you take out an extended warranty, or better still, spend a bit more and buy a reputable brand.

I recently made the mistake of purchasing an Indesit fridge freezer. The instructions booklet tells you to call their helpline first for any assistance. I called on day 2 as the machine was faulty.. I was advised that the fridge freezer would take time to settle and told to give it 2 weeks before calling them back. I thought this odd and looked into it, turns out that 2 weeks is your Consumer Rights time frame to cancel any online order, whether the item is faulty or not (obviously you pay postage costs if no fault). I contacted the retailer, who were shocked that I'd been told it takes 2 weeks for a fridge freezer to settle and agreed that Indesit should never have told me this. They took the name of the person that had lied to me and raised the matter with Indesit. Needless to say I had that cheap pile of rubbish uplifted and replaced with something quality, a lovely Samsung is on it's way. I will never buy cheap again, if in doubt, check out Indesit's reviews on Trustpilot link to Trustpilot

Your contract is with the seller and its up to them sort free of charge within the warranty period, you should never have contacted the manufacturer.

Most people leave the review a few days after getting the new machine and receiving an email from the seller asking for a review about their new product so the reviews should all be good.
Ask the same person 18 months later and i'll bet their opinions have changed but in all fairness if you look upon the likes of Inseshit / Hotpoint /Creda as a disposable item that 'maybe' will last 2 or 3 years they can be good value.
Their 10 year parts warranty is a total scam though because of the rip off sky high call out & labour charge.

If you buy a Hotpoint, Indesit, or any other Whirlpool group product, I highly suggest you take out home insurance that includes fire damage.

I have a similar one and is great. It's just hoax to have fire or someone would have misused it

They are great if you are lonely and need a regular visitor to your house as the engineers will be round maybe monthly. Customer Service is terrible and how anyone can still buy from them after the dryer fiasco is beyond me. Gerald Ratner killed his company by saying one of his products was rubbish these guy get away with it every day and yet people still buy them.

You need to delete your comment people have died because of them and idiots, sorry would never use that word on here but this time it’s needed, saying it’s a “hoax” is out of order.

Will be in the landfill within a couple of years, Same as suggested before, Reviews are often left within weeks of purchase, It's usually after a few months you'll start getting problems.

True they wash clothes and seem to perform ok when they work.

Hotpoint/Indeshite/Ariston etc.. all crap. They're not like the old Hotpoints.

Last one I had was exactly as you describe, I was on first name terms with the repair man! I had it on a 5 year warranty and chucked it after about 2 and a half years as I just couldn't stand the bother and the extreme noise any more, it was so bad I could not stand being in the same room while it was on!

Your Ariston that was around 15+ years old was not made to a cheap budget price in an Eastern Europe country like they are today.
The chances are when you originally bought it you paid just as much or even more than the cost of one nowadays because it was made to last a lot longer.
