wouldn't touch indesit
Have some heat....
OK heat for price but take out an extended 3-5 year warranty... You're going to need it. There's a saying: "Buy cheap, buy twice".
... but not enough heat to set it on fire hopefully
Make sure you have the extended labour warranty, even if they have a parts warranty.

Me neither.
My last one only lasted 24 years.
I'm just glad I won it and didn't have to pay for it. oO
This from the Which? product review for this particular machine:

What can I expect from a Indesit washing machine?

Our results show most Indesit washing machines are uninspiring at best. In 2011, three of its models produced some of the lowest test scores we've ever seen. While machines tested in more recent years have shown an improvement, we haven't tested a single Indesit since 2011 that's scored highly enough to be a Best Buy (at the time of writing in December 2014).

Not that it would matter anymore if it did. Our latest reliability survey has found Indesit is one of the least reliable brands of washing machine. As a result, no future high-scoring Indesit model will qualify as a Best Buy unless it comes with a free five-year parts and labour warranty.

Its washing machines are not that popular with its owners, either. In our latest survey, it scored just two stars for customer satisfaction. According to the same survey, almost 90% of Indesit washing machine owners decided to switch to a different brand last time they upgraded their washing machine.

You cannot compare any product from 20 odd years ago with the same brand today, for a few reasons that was probably made by indesit before it tried to become a much bigger company, before they went on a spending spree and then killed other brands like hotpoint. Before they went for the cheaper end of the market, before they changed their approach and were eventually bought out. But the final reason, with the exception of cars most things back then were built to last, unfortunately now they are built for a life cycle, sadly some companies build to a much less life cycle than others.

Indesit/Hotpoint/Whirlpool - brands you really should never touch.
got the same model and it's brilliant.
I have a ten year old indesit washing machine and still going strong, I don't know what people want for this type of money, if it was a post about a miele washing machine you would get someone voting cold as it,s too expensive, or the wrong shade of white, or it doesn't tuck me into bed at night. It,s a £ 183 branded washing machine that will wash your clothes clean like every other washing machine. Voted Hot from me.

Ah. I see.
They are actually built to break down.
I never thought of that.
And there I was, thinking they just bought the best quality parts available for a set price and put them together.
Bearing in mind that technology should have improved and therefore become more reliable.
So. How exactly do they plan the breakdown time?
They're not very good at it.
Seeing as my latest washing machine broke down after 2 weeks.
Somehow, I don't think that was part of their plan. oO

Also Creda all the same company making cheap crap that lasts 24 months with light use if your lucky.
Ive clicked on the link but its still showing as £229.00 when does the 20% discount go on?
The only indesit appliance I ever had broke down so often the appliance cover company begged me to let them replace it with a decent make
Do not put any thought into their ten year parts warranty. They charge £130 for the engineer to turn up, so if it lasts a year before breaking down better value to buy a new machine.
I have a Hotpoint dishwasher, not a cheap machine, and the rinse aid dispenser tank has separated from its frame, they want £120 for the part (i am capable of fixing it myself) or I can pay their £130 call out fee and get the part for free. Doesn't price out on a two year old machine and what you can get a new one for.
Showing as £229??
Isn't indesit the same company as hotpoint?
I have a indesit dryer and it's not bad at all £150 and it's still going strong after 3 years.
I had a indesit washing machine in my old house and it was absolute crap
Broke down so often. Wouldn't buy one ever again
I now have a hotpoint washing machine which is okay. The digital display does go funny at times though

Every product is built to a life cycle, yes they can break down quicker but if you think a product bought today will last 20 years then you are living in dream world. Have a read up about product life cycles, nothing is built to last now a days so manufacturers will use better quality products like you say but one thing for sure thar manufacturer ain't going to be indesit

I hope you are aware of the tumble dryers catching fire fiasco going on at the moment.
There's a very good chance your Indesit dryer will be effected just like mine was.
