I'm sure this is a great price, so I haven't voted cold, but I know a few engineers who refer to this brand of washing machine as IN DE S H ##T.

It's got to be cheaper in the long run to spend £100-£200 more on a quality brand, no?

Price doesn't include delivery charge

Good price, but only a 1 year guarantee so could work out expensive if it breaks down after that. The extended guarantee is £76.99 for an extra 2 years.

I'd pay more for one with a free 5 year guarantee e.g. hotukdeals.com/dea…887

If you have a large family and use it 2 or 3 times a day it's cheaper than a launderette at £6 a pop. They aren't built to last anymore

If you look at a Miele, or even a Bosch, you could expect it to last a good deal of time.

I think it depends on your usage pattern and luck. My 200 GBP Whirlpool serves for 5 years without a single fault...

I had a Miele I have 5 kids and do anything from 4-6 loads a day, it broke down after 14 months. But that's fine as I wash a lot compared to ppl that wash 3 times a week. They do last years if you don't do a lot of washing.
Over those 14months I would have done 1960 washes based on 5 washes a day.
Someone who does 3 washes a week will equate to 168.
Therefore any machine for me will break quicker so I buy cheap as its affordably replaceable

Regarding the guarantee, I've just been looking at indesit fridge freezers and they have increased their gurantee to a whopping 10 years on parts even when it's showing one year guarantee. Don't know if it applies all across the range though.

Yeh, it's a bit of a con really, you have to use their engineers to find the fault and replace the part, as you'd guess there is a call out charge and hourly rate (not cheap).

Looks good for sales though.

That's what we thought when we bought a reasonably expensive Bosch with a 2 year guarantee from JL. The drum bearings went after 3 years. As it's a sealed drum you have to replace the whole thing, and the drum costs 200 quid. Not worth it.
