No offence buddy but its about how you cook the lentils and vegetables. What spices you use and how you extract the right flavours to make it authentic.

What an ignorant statement to make.

I have no particular opinion on Indian cuisine, but everyone will have to start eating a lot more vegetables and lentils in the future if we are to have a sustainable existence on this planet.

Happy Friday Boz Meister THANK YOU
Great looking book (albeit wasteful if you wanted to print a page) but a complete mishmash of proper measurements and US guesstimate cups

Yeah nothing like good old spuds and bacon in everything of course. Why bother with trying other cuisines.

From that part of Asia, I prefer Pakistani food as it's spicy and doesn't contain just vegetables in almost every dish!
Dishes like Pav bhaji and Rajma are a joke!

The so called “authentic” Indian food found in restaurants here is in no way Indian food. Also,Indian food isn’t just vegetables or non-spicy? Or onion bhaji!

Indians of the authors generation I suppose.
Hot! But... does it include a good recipe on fruit cocktail with tip-top? If it doesn’t have that or curried baked beans the title is misleading
Voted cold for another American imperial recipe book. Another lazy post with incorrect description

It's an Australian book, so a cup measurement is an exact 250ml, not a "US guesstimate".

Not American (Sydney, Australia), not Imperial (Australian cup is 250ml)
Makes it even worse

That makes it even worse but thanks for the info Sydney. Infuriates me to download these books to find you have to measure by volume rather than weight. The OP knows it but refuses to state it in the description and claims it is English when it clearly isn't, I,m getting really fed up with having to download them to find out what language they are in and then going to the pc to delete them off my account. I don't want my cooking mad 11 year old getting confused with this other method.

Claims it's language is English. Which it is. If it had said British English then you might have a point. I could see your argument of volume / weight if this were baking, but in my experience when cooking the accuracy really does not matter, don't let measurements get in the way, feel some passion instead of fretting...
Most Indians “weigh” everything by sight, touch or random sized mug from washing powder pack box or SMA spoon. Just say a little prayer whilst u cook and don’t fret over precise measurements

If you look at the preview of the book, there is a spice box but it has 2 lots of salt - why?

England stopped using imperial in 1973 along with the rest of the United Kingdom. The ex colonies have failed to keep up. No way I want to go back to that. Confusing enough when I was a boy growing up in the 70s. I will probably keep ranting on about decimalisation for a while, where the OP ignorantly fails to state the language.
