Thanks @andywedge - quite love the M&S meal deal - will be picking one on my way back from work
Not sure if sparks members get an additional side (as that seems to be the thing from time to time too) - doesn't show on my sparks card so would need someone else (in case they see it on their account) to confirm.

Yes that's right - I incidentally posted that a few days back
Can’t believe how bad this is! Bought it once when arriving home late after long journey and not wanting to cook. Chucked it all the bin! How it can be called Indian beats me.. no authenticity whatsoever.
Love this deal, great to see that M&S have added more vegetarian options
No saag paneer side? Boo hiss
Confirmed on my sparks card.

This is way better than the M&S offer, edible ! Even with the additional side offered on my Sparks Card I’d buy the Waitrose one instead.

DIfferent people have said differently on both as you can see from the comments on that deal, it’s probably a personal choice thing

True... personally, I always prefer to cook from scratch. Asian food is easy and reasonably cheap to cook at home, and you know what’s going into it!

Best to see these for what they are - if you like them, you like them.

They're neither 'desi' in taste nor anything like the curries you get in Indian restaurants - primarily because they have to be conscious of the 'traffic lights' labelling system - so they cut back on the levels of sugar, fat and salt as well as avoiding additives and food colourings. I guess there's also got to be some tweaking to allow them to last longer on a shelf. The only supermarket curries I've had that were close to the 'british indian restaurant style' were the ones I used to get at Sainsbury's curry counter about 16 years ago. I believe they were supplied by a Derby curry manufacturer at the time but they taste nothing like that now - the sauces were rich and delicious and there were massive chunks of meat. Now they're kind of watery and bland in comparison.

Definitely extra side free on sparks
thanks for this
Tesco have 2 mains, 4 onion bhajis and rice for £5 at the moment too. Bargain!
This still seems a bit pricey to me, although i know that m&s curries are generally pretty dear compared to supermarkets. I'm a chicken madras fan - are the m&s ones substantially better than their competitors?

I find there is very little difference myself, to let's say Iceland, just more expensive. But best to try and see for oneself first.
