Bought this deal last year and it was fantastic! Absolute bargain!

You purchase this to get the voucher code and then book via the AirKix website using the voucher code. You pick the date and time. I bought 2 last year for OH and his son for Xmas - They loved it!

When you arrive you have a briefing watch a DVD and then get kitted out. You go to the skydiving tunnell and you'll be in a group of maybe 10. All of you go in once and see if you can get the hang of it, then you all take turns and go back in again, this time you can ask for the instructor to do tricks with you - Whizz up to the top with you and back down again. Then you get a DVD of your flight and also a free photo.

This is a great idea for a present! I went back with my OH to do this as it looked so great and i loved it! The feeling is so bizarre.

How much air time do you get?

1 minute each time you go in - You get to go in twice which is a total of 2 mins but this is equivalent free-fall time of approximately three real skydives.

Trust me - From someone who has done it - It seems so much longer than a minute when your in that tunnel!
Looks a lot of fun. Too much travel for me but a great deal.
Someone died doing this the other week, not sure what happened. On the other hand, my 12 year old did it last year and quite enjoyed it. It might seem like you don't get long, but if you get the full minute each go it's enough.

Someone died? You do have to fill in a medical questionairre when you arrive - You aren't allowed to do it with heart conditions, back conditions, if you have ever dislocated your shoulders or if you are pregnant. Obvious reasons.

Also yeah you get full 1 minute on each go x 2 and it really does seem longer. Its fantastic and would make a brilliant xmas present - which is what i have done again for this year. My OH's son is 9 and always asks "can we do it again" - Doing it through groupon makes it so much cheaper than via the actual airkix website.

And after you do it and you go home you can log in on the air kix website and look at all the pictures from the day and you can copy and paste (shh dont tell them) or you can purchase online and print off or save to your computer so you dont have to make a decision on the best picture whilst your there.
Here's a few pics from when we did it;

Some people find it hard to relax their body and let the wind take them up. Some people whilst they were in the tunnel were constantly heading towards the walls and the guy had to manouevre them everywhere. If you just relax and do what they say in the briefing dvd then you can soar right to the top. Every little body movement changes your direction. Its fantastic - Im waffling on now with all these comments and pics but it really is fantastic!

He died in the tunnel, but it was a brain hemorrhage - the doctors said it could just as well have happened sitting at home watching TV.

For those saying it's too far to travel, there's another Airkix in Milton Keynes, and a Bodyflight tunnel in Bedford. All great fun.

Right so totally unrelated then!

Also the voucher is only valid for the Manchester Airkix.

I've done a 15,000 ft skydive, and you only get about 70 seconds freefall doing that. this is the equiv to two 13,000 ft skydives (minus the chute part), for £23 - look up the prices of actual skydives.

This is a v.good deal, if you want to experience freefall

Thanks just bought 2 for my boys for xmas they will love this x
Great price, close to where I live, Christmas coming up......got to be done! Heat
looks fun
Bah - Manchester and Milton Keynes - nowhere near Scotland
I can tell you that 2 min its not enough ... you need at least 4 - 10 min to start using wind, directions, speed and start to control your body

I have done this about 1 h altogether ...but its definitely fun
good deal, booked it for 3 people! I've done a tandem jump before. SO will be interesting to see how it compares, for the price.........brilliant!
Great fun and a very good price. To get the best out of it on your first go make sure you pay attention during the instructions and watch the instructor, otherwise you will end up flying all over the place and wasting most of your first minute.
Brilliant price. I bought it for my BF when we first got together. Was funny to watch, he was useless at it and hated it. He is a tall guy and struggled to 'take off' he went flying into the glass!! the instructor had a hard time with him.

I found it enough time - I listened to the DVD and understood that each slight body movement, hands, arch of back and bum altered my movement dramatically. I totally got it and loved the feeling just dipped my back and up i went ..... The instructor didnt have to do much, you can see in the pic above he is just stood there and i fly up. Whereas my OH (like yours Shelly) totally didnt get it, he struggled to relax and just let the wind move his body. He couldnt get high and the instructor was constantly giving him hand signals. The experience is what you make of it just relax and enjoy

p.s - Shelly loving your avatar! SNAP

highly recommended. I bought the 10 minutes version for a lot less than it should have been. 5 x 2min flights is very tiring!!

It says on the link that its 2 sessions per person what this means is you go into the tunnel twice - 1 minute each time. Like i said in my original description, your in a group of about 10 people and you all sit round the tunnel. You go in one by one, the first 1 min is to get used to it and then you go in again one by one and the second time you can ask to do tricks, the instructor can spin you round or you can just relax and try to master the moves (if you didnt get the hang of it the first time). It sounds quick but it seems ages once your in there trying to master the moves & you do feel knackered after. Its hard work keeping steady and being blasted by the wind! Its amazing though and i highly recommend.
There are lots of BOGOF offers around at the mo. if you google Airkix.

I bought with the £8 credit deal do £14,95 a person seems worth it.
I did this last year via a Groupon deal, was great fun.

Get booked in quick is my advice, all slots were full after a few weeks and we had a problem booking, so had to pay a bit more in the end for a later date!
Doesn't seem that amazing price for 2 minutes.
I got 10 minutes from groupon for £59 I think which is a pretty good deal.
A quick check up shows £47 for 4 minutes and £30 for 2 of peak.
Gah, only two minutes?

I'm not driving up there for just two "nifty" minutes...

Great deal. I had a go at this last year and thouroughly enjoyed the experience. Just got 2 for wife and son to try it now.
First time in my life ive wished i lived in manchester :P
We're at the other side of the country but looks like too much fun to not make the trip. I really fancy taking in an hour or two of skiing practice too, to make it worth our while. Heat added from me.
