balu_sw (thanks) in the previous thread says, "Only issue appears to be no support for lte band 20, which is used by O2 and Vodafone".
- though, missleading in Post #41 says differently (?)

FooM (thanks) says, "NFC isn't supported by the Mediatek chips that most of the cheapo Chinese phones use. Mediatek have their own implementation called Hotknot but it's not compatible. NFC isn't widely used in China I believe."

The Gearbest listing implies this has a non-removable battery, whereas the xiaomitoday.com review says it is removable. Zi Jin Cheng (via Youtube reviews) confirmed it is indeed a non-removable battery.

A rather generic Chinese phone but not bad for the price
Battery Capacity (mAh): 2450mAh
Battery Type: Non-removable

Battery Capacity (mAh): 2450mAh Battery Type: Non-removable

My sister has a non-removable battery in her Xperia T. It's easy to replace, however (I did it for her - as simple as removing a screw and the back case). Not sure if it's the case with these Chinese phones, or whether they'll be easy to source.
never used mtk CPU before, is it good?
Not too bad spec for the price, 4G won't work on O2, giffgaff etc
good spec for the price though i wouldnt be too optimistic of the durability and after sales support.
bee eyeing this up for the past 3 days. soooo tempted it looks a very nice design.
ive use an infocus before briefly and was actually very smooth
The screen has 424ppi IIRC. Great spec for the price.

The previous thread (mentioned on Post #1) was just over 2 weeks ago - the code makes it a cheaper price. hotukdeals.com/dea…641 (the price then was £78).

The promo code was via a Gearbest email received yesterday.
FHD - Great price with extended TF card too and metal body

No bother Personally, if I was in the market for this phone I'd go for the 32GB. A few sites say the battery is removable, some say it's not (hate non-removable batteries so that would be a dealbreaker)!

Edit 25 April: Zi Jin Cheng (via Youtube reviews) confirmed it is indeed a non-removable battery.

they are crap at projectors too. The irony of an 'Infocus' projector when theres broke all the time is amusing.
To be fair, the reviews I've seen for this phone have been decent, some even calling it one of the best $100 Chinese phones available. The battery life is the main issue, though.

ordered! ^_^ hope its as good as it looks.
as I said i used an infocus briefly before (for about a month) sold it on as was 5.5 inch screen too big. I did a lot of reading prior to getting it as had never heard of the brand and was a bit anxious but it actually ran smoothly. I popped a launcher on it and it was as good as. If i'd put a case on it and asked an average joe to use that and a galaxy note they probably wouldnt have known the difference. Camera wasn't dire either.
Fingers crossed this on doesn't disappoint.

would love to hear anyone else who has ordered or who has it.
now i'm concerned it has malicious spyware etc.

Can't see any mention of this with Infocus - I know there were concerns about Lenovo a few years ago? Have you got an article/forum thread link?
Can we just post a link to Gear Best so HUKD can get even more revenue from them? It's China, no VAT (tax evasion/fraud), no warranty to write about, it's a risk.
So I cant use this phone with an o2 sim card then?
missleading

it does have Band 20 4G LTE.

It doesn't, according to this reviewer youtu.be/RLX…947 (at 15:47).
gallohatl

So I cant use this phone with an o2 sim card then?

You can, you just won't get LTE (4G) speeds. http://www.4g.co.uk/4g-frequencies-uk-need-know/
There are a total of 5 different frequencies used in the UK used by the mobile networks to deliver their 2G, 3G and 4G mobile services.
800MHz (Band 20)
900MHz (Band 8 )
1800MHz (Band 3)
2100MHz (Band 1)
2600MHz (Band 7)

It's fairly clear that they are jealous you're getting heat for a good deal whereas their deal was slammed cold. 'Analysing your deals' on HUKD seems to mean voting cold on anything that competes with their deal and criticising if they didn't spot it first, happens in all threads.

I don't think he means the manufacturer, they tend to be pretty reputable. It's more that he is worried the seller will flash the phone with dodgy firmware or install spyware before shipping, which is a very real risk depending who you buy from.

the older ones internal transformers used to go a lot. they were fugly too lol
There was some strange shizzles going on in the Gearbest threads last night (maybe related to the weird comments I was getting on my threads?). I have only ever bought Chinese electronics/tat from DX or ebay but of course we have to be cautious when buying from these sites.

Rest assured if Gearbest/Banggood etc mess me around, I'll be such a pain in the behind they'll be glad to give me my refund back!
wont use these again after they ripped me off £140!! brought phone was faulty asked to return so did at a cost of £20 shipping and they didnt give refund not happy :-(
pity some of these Chinese phones are not on gsmarena, as the main thing i always want to know about these phones is whether it has NFC?
