Does anyone know how high these stack? Wondering if they'll fit in a drawer

9 pans but only 4 protectors?
    BraddersJ's avatar
The fully stainless saucepans don't need protectors since there is no coating to protect.
The protectors are to protect the non stick surfaces only (edited)

I have these got them in the Black Friday sale

Just be warned the handle brake and lose grip after only few months

and customs service make you jump through hoops with photos and so much evidence
then telling you to use the handles for placing on and off the hob 5-mins max on the hob also wash by hand in luke warm water

    Just a heads up

Thank you. I've been considering getting this set for literally a year now and I was really concerned how the handles will perform. Your review is not the only one I saw that mentions these issues, therefore, I will pass on buying them, for yet another time.

For anyone interested in these - this is the lowest price you will ever get, they are usually 160£ on sale. There is a 140£ from other sites like JL but they don't include glass lids (even if the photo shows them) and have 1 less pan. (edited)

Good price, if you can get to Gunwharf Quays in Portsmouth theres a Tefal pop up discount store which has loads of different ranges of the Ingenio sets at good prices also.

I've had my set for over a year and no issues at all

me too, no issues and love them!

Pots and pans are ok. Handles are a nightmare though. I’ve used them as instructed (basically only attach when moving the pot/pan and hand wash only).

I’ve had two handles fail (spring mechanism stops working/retracting). Tefal refused to replace as they considered it a wear and tear item - I’ve only had the set 1 year.

They're the easiest thing to repair. Poke the little bit of metal through. Soak in boiling water. But of wd40. Put back together. Job done for another couple years.

Used the pans this evening and overall impressions are good.

    1) Firstly they freed up alot of space in the Pan draw. Annoying the box doesn’t contain enough pan protectors (2 short) so will order a couple.

    2) Handle was pretty easy to use, even for the other half.

    3) They work well on our induction job, heating up evenly and quickly.

    4) Take up a lot less space when washing them. SS pans fit easily on dishwasher without the handle. Teflon pans are less fiddly on the drying rack.

    5) Thermo spot is useful. Also Teflon coating was very good, made steak and nothing stuck to it at all. Guess that’s to be expected with a new Teflon pan.

    6) Definitely too many frying pans, but given they don’t take too much space it allows you to pick a size much closer to what you need. That’s handy when washing up and when there were several pans on the hob.

    7) The lids are excellent. Sit nicely on the pan, don’t take much space in the dishwasher and are vented (no rattling and reduces boiling over).

main gripe is the depth of the saucepans. Added water and boiled then added kale and it was too high so spilled out a bit. Have to be careful how much water you add with these. Ended up keeping one of the larger old pans for when you need the depth.

Included utensils are average at best. Would have preferred they gave the extra pan protectors.

For £150 reasonably happy. Cheers OP, been considering them for a while, but this price made me bite.

Do people really need 9 pans? There’s only 4 hobs on most cookers
    Wapniak's avatar
Do people really need so many cutlery? After all, they only have two hands.

That's a steal with the lids. I paid without lids £220 I think.

Ignore the handles comments if you're able to read the manual beforehand (don't leave on a heated pan, don't submerge) (edited)

As in don't leave the handle attached to the pan whilst it's on the hob? Seems a bit odd as when you go to stir the pan it would move all over the place without holding the handle at the same time surely?

I have one of the cheaper ingenio sets, pretty similar to these but cheaper materials, and it's still in awesome condition 5 years later.
I kind of wish they were on their way out so i could get these ones.

had my eye on these for a while (years). so have bit the bullet
  12. bloodshoteyes's avatar
Heat added the lids alone cost around £35

Just ordered a set, great bargain!

Great price OP. I paid around £90 for the John Lewis ones at the start of last year as friend gets the partnership discount. Then bought the lids from the Tefal outlet for £27. They’ve been excellent and never had a problem with them. (edited)

Specs say compatible with induction hobs also
  16. twistedspirit's avatar
For those having issues with the handles... don't leave them on the pan otherwise the plastics goes brittle from the heat and breaks causing issues gripping.
    fessybear's avatar
So you have to repeatedly remove and install the handle while cooking 🤷 seems counter intuitive
  17. cri's avatar
I find it very weird that tefal consider that the pans don’t need a lid the lid sizes are compatible with the pots only… i looked at multiple sets
    Mentos's avatar
There’s no lid to fit the wok?

We don’t have a dedicated lid for our current pans and don’t need it for smaller one. For larger one I just use the wok lid.

What did you do? Keep one of your old kids?

I've bought three sets over the last few years for myself and both my daughters. I think they're great space savers and have excellent non-stick surfaces, that require hardly any oil. The stainless steel pans are also really good. Ignore the handle complaints, just use them as directed. They take a second to put on or take off a pan and I have never had a problem with them coming off a pan when lifting it. (edited)

Had the cheaper set for years. If it wasn’t still going strong I’d be grabbing this deal without a thought. Great price and excellent quality. Not had any handle issues either.

I got an email for 25% off my first purchase but I already bought them. Not sure if it would have stacked but though.
    Mentos's avatar
I don’t think it does as once you enter a code you only have the option to cancel it, you can’t add another code.
  21. Deedie's avatar
Got a dispatch email already. That was quick

Worth buying the plastic lids separately?
    BraddersJ's avatar
    Nope

Good find and first deal, thanks for taking time to share,

I'm tempted by this but four frying pans, a wok and a saute pan seems excessive, I would rather a couple of extra saucepans!
    exact_emergency's avatar
Lidl very occasionally do a knock off set of saucepans. They're not as good quality but they are still decent and a fraction of the price.

We got a set as a backup for when our tefal are knackered. But they've just lasted ages.
  25. Mentos's avatar
Do they ever do a deal on just the saucepans?

Im contemplating moving away from Teflon based pans. In reality I only need a frying pan and wok. So can deal with those with conventional handles. But would like a few of the saucepans in stainless (without coating) to save space.
  26. isam_amad's avatar
How do they perform on induction hobs?
  27. Mentos's avatar
    Finally gave in and ordered.

Any idea what I should expect to pay for the sealed lids (when you want to place food in the fridge)? Will leave the alert on so hopefully can catch a deal.
    BraddersJ's avatar
You're better off checking eBay for those I reckon
  28. mlewis99's avatar
Has anyone used them on induction hobs ?
  29. Mentos's avatar
How long do they normally take so deliver?

Oddly I got the conf email, but doesn’t show under my account
    Mentos's avatar
Called them after not receiving a response to my email.

Apparently orders don’t show up under your account until they’ve been shipped

Mine arrived today. Little light but otherwise well made. Handle is very easy to use.

Main issue is they’re smaller than existing pans. The saucepans, whilst similar diameter are an inch shorter (probably due to weight limits with handle?).

On the plus side they should free up a lot of space.

WRT usage, I presume oil in first, use medium heat until thermospot turns red?

EDIT: Dont worry found it here:

    images-eu.ssl-images-amazon.com/ima…pdf

    Essentially:

    1) First use - clean it, heat for 30 seconds, drop of oil and rub over entire surface.
    2) Normal use - add tablespoon of oil, heat on medium until thermospot turns red.
    3) Maintenance - Periodically apply a drop of all over surface after washing. (edited)
