Certainly not the greatest price but reduced bei £30, so if someone desperately needs one it's probably an ok price. Wouldn't pay that much myself.

I would be holding off just a little longer the 1080 can now be had for £500

Which is bettet for overclocking for 4k

1070ti
1080
980ti

980ti is 300 now. Reference was 6 plus 8 pin but most on ebay have 2x8 pin and I have read revirws of 25pc overclocking. I think based is 40fps ultra 4k so maybe getting there.

Or do we just wait a generation as 1080p ultra 60hZ on my rx470

compares 1080 1070 980ti OC (but not 1070ti)
1440P overclocked:
GTX 1070 is 3% faster than GTX 980Ti
GTX 1080 is 23% faster than GTX 980Ti
this suggests1070ti overclock is same as 980ti overclock in performance
guess depend on the model as 1070 more power efficient so if they got a 2x8 pin one surely could massively oc depending on fans?

For 4k you need 1080Ti to get anywhere near decent frame rate, but to be frank why bother when you can go 1440p with high 100+fps frame rates with a 980Ti or 1070 and suitable monitor?

I currently use a 46" 1080p 60hz Samsung TV as a monitor. I also have a 28" 4k monitor at 30hz which also has 1440p 60hz. And of course there are loads of 4k TVs eg if you hunt around can get a decent Sony 49" for £400 with low response time AND get Netflix 4k which you don't on a monitor.

So I have also wondered if 1440p upsales well on 4k tvs? In theory 1080p should upscale better for 4k displays as just double width double height

I think as you say proper 4k 60fps gaming is 2 years away for the masses?
