Not as desirable as the 6GB version, but the price difference is bigger than the performance difference.
It's decent for most titles at 1080P, and it competes with used GTX970 price.

better than gtx970 and 3gb if not in sli is more than enough. VRAM is never enough only when under test conditions
Good price, this could be a good purchase as a cheaper temporary card while someone waits for next gen as custom cards will still be a good while unfortunately
Is is worth ? I don’t mind waiting . Thinking of upgrading from an rx 240

Wait. I know people ALWAYS say that with GPUs, but prices really are starting to come down ATM. you might get the 6GB version for this price soon.

Sadly not - I found while playing Hitman that it does a VRAM check before starting. If you only have 2GB you are locked to Low graphics, 4GB required for Medium and 6GB+ for High.

My view on upgrading graphics cards is that it should provide you with a good boost for a few years, but considering the current gen is almost two years old and this version already incapable of maxing titles that are themselves a couple of years old - not for me.
Ignore the images - this is the model with the cheapy plastic shroud and fan, not the (in my opinion) nicer looking compact card with the metal shroud. Google the part number, double checked this with them yesterday.
The price on OCUK is 169.99.

I don't know why it shows 180, I did not input that price.

I think it’s delivery
correct.
And it does seem that the product code is for a worse cooled version unfortunately.

If you use something a lot and get enjoyment out of it why not spend the extra and get something better.
You'll soon forget how much you spent.

That's my M.O.

Or wait for the new cards.
This card is old and outdated. I have the gtx 1060 6gb and it struggles to play the newer games.

At ultra?

My old 770 plays games at 1080p 60fps... Granted it dips now and again but the 1060 is way more powerful.

Two sentences that together make no sense at all.

I've got a 1060 6GB it does struggle to keep 60FPS on some games at 1080p & high settings. Games like Ghost Recon WIldlands & even Fortnite(Campaign) won't maintain 60FPS at high settings.

what it is that does not make sense?? Trying to guess and by the look of it I can see that you are in the wrong thread.

I bought 1060 3gb with my computer and after a while regretted it sooooooooooooooooooo much. It's a good card, sure. I just think it's REALLY, REALLY worth paying a bit extra to get the 6gb version. The 1060 card itself is very good, it's just that the 3gb can and will let you down v-ram wise. Trust me on this, get the 6gb, pay extra.

I must assume you play at low fps and high settings

Context required, resolution? graphical settings?
3gb is not enough for high definition with todays AAA titles @ 1080p. Of course, with teh replacement due in under 3 months time, etailers need to shift old stock so `finally` are selling them at MSRP

You said 3GB is enough if not SLI and VRAM is never enough only under test conditions. Which obviously doesn't make sense. You're right though I'm still waiting for a "professional" to turn up here and talk some sense.

SLI or crossfire does not, unfortunately, double available vram. 2x3gb cards would still be 3gb.

3GB is no no for newer and future titles even in 1080p. Two year old already, they cost as much as they cost when they were released. They will be replaced this year, and the prices will drop in the coming months as the cryptocurrency craze is subsiding. I would not buy any graphics card right now unless I really needed one.

You gave the wrong interpretation. Gtx1060 SLI with 3gb would definitely be not enough but ok with only 1 card in most of the cases and under test conditions with all the settings/res. up, a lot of vram is needed. Did I make it clear now? Some others understood me

It wasn't clear no. That's why I responded the way I did. Is English your first language? That might seem a rude question but if not then it would explain the lack of clarity which isn't your fault.

no, English is not my first language but was somewhat clear I been told by a friend after explaining and even so he does not know about PC terminology. Saying so I admit I could have been more clear of course
Also: it is nice when people asks because you are right, it was rude and aggressive

Why are people banging on about SLI for a card that doesn't even support SLI?

This site man, sometimes makes me question how people get dressed in the morning.

It is however getting to the point where small form-factor budget gaming builds are starting to make sense again, using this card as a base:

Nice little console replacement, you'll be able to play older games at 4K, modern stuff at 1080p.
