Nvidia is releasing the 1080ti, making the 1080 the new mid high end, and the 1070 high mid end.
Amd is expected to release vega / rx500 high end to replace fury cards

A new pecking order necessarily changes prices due to decreased perceived value. Price will go down - or I should say they'll continue to go down

No this is nvidia were talking about. The 1080ti will be in its own tier just below the Titan XP so the current linup will retain their position and therefore remain at the current price points. I'd predict £900 for the 1080ti.

Although if Vega can compete then only that would drive prices of the current 1070/1080's down.

Agreed, if Vega doesn't compete (ie. equal or better than 1070 performance at cheaper price), Nvidia have no reason to drop pieces.

All may become clearer 28th, but who knows! This is a decent price now though.

Not saying nvidia will drop rrp
I'm saying retailers will drop prices to move stock that isn't selling for those prices, as a reaction to the lower demand

No they won't. Happens everytime with nVidia. The Ti is on another level to 1080 and 1070, it will have no affect on their prices.

Anyone else notice the little booboo they made with the box art? X) Not bad for the current prices of a 1070, shame they havent dropped all that much.

Good price for the moment, if for whatever reason you can't wait. Surprised that nobody has commented on the ASUS GTX1070 being £330 at novatech last month. Have people finally realised they can't time-travel? :O

If the Ti can't do 60fps at 4K maxed out, I'm gonna be angry. Hulk smash the HQ
