Cheapest deal I can find for a 1080, it is quite a basic edition but reviews seem good.

Don't forget Quidco at 1.7% too.

Plenty of articles but are there any solid leaks pointing to a likely release date?
The speculation has been going on for an age but don't recall any solid info yet. Big difference.

Wait even more months and get something better than Volta, save your cash.
Laptops Direct - terrible customer service.

Purchased 2x GTX 1080 graphics cards - £900 outlay. I've been waiting over 2 months for my Destiny II codes. Never received my Amazon voucher that they advertised (£30 per card). 10 Mails, 2 phone calls, disputes raised. Still waiting. I'm £90 out of pocket and got no option but to moan about it here (and elsewhere) until I feel that I've cost them well over £90 in lost trade

Beware, great prices, terrible customer service, don't expect any freebies they advertise.

Link don't work
Oh it's working for me... Search for inno3d on laptops direct and you should find it, for some reason it doesn't appear when searching for a 1080
I have the 1070ti version of this, got it for 390. It’s a very plain looking card and doesn’t have the bells and whistles of G1s and Strixes or LEDs. But it’s built really well. Solid metal backplate and front (near the fans). Not too loud either and mine reaches between 60 and 70 degrees. But I have to stress it’s as ugly as anything
Anyone know the warranty on these? Cant seem to find any info onsite

Yeah there is rumor, "leaks"and speculation but nothing solid. Most pointing to early 2018, either way, this seems to be a bad time to buy gpu. You could be waiting months or you could buy now and new card release just few months later
More info about Nvidia's Volta from CEO Jensen Huang himself:

I don’t see where the incentive for them to rush Volta out is. It’s not like they have any actual competition.

Yeah, that's going to be cheap - most expensive, most complex, most superlatives in a presentation ever = expensive end product.

Problem with graphics cards is though that a new range comes out and the older models stay the same price until stock is gone bar the odd clearance offer here and there, especially on the "premium" models like you are after. Other way it happens is say the 1180 comes out (or whatever it will be called) it will likely be better performance and slap bang right in the same price range as the outgoing models - which would you buy then? Or the next one down - say the 1170 comes along as is as good as the 1080 but £100 cheaper and will probably come with a couple of games (making it cheaper still)

There never seems to be an upside to waiting with PC hardware other than not being an early adopter and missing out on the freebie games (ask me how I know...)

True, they are. If your about to spend good money on a substantial purchase such as: 1080+ card you need to do a reality check, its too late in the day to waste good money on old tech when Volta is just around the corner. Use some common sense and be an early adoptee and get your money's worth, or get someone to do the math for Y'all.

You could say that about any pience of tech, something better is always around the corner.

Volta is not out now is it? So vote the deal hot or cold based on that.

NVidia have no competition to release a new generation, they could string out the 1000 series for as long as they seem fit right now.
Volta will be released in top segment, 600+. No point to wait.

Well im on a 980ti at the minute so if an 1170 was to be released I dare say it would be a big improvement over so I would go for it if the price was right. Or even pick up a second hand 1080ti or something

i think they’ll drop price eventually , I remember the 970 was around £260 prior to the 1070 release where as the 1070 was released about £400 iirc, don’t know the 970 original price.

still got my fingers crossed for the 1080 to be around £400 in the mean time

Got a 980ti in one PC a 1080 in another, the difference most of the time is negligible to be honest. I'm not a hardcore pro gamer but for what I do, ARMA, GTA etc it's really not "dramatically" different real world terms.

I bought my 970's for £199 a piece from what I can see in my emails - about a month after the release in October 2014 and that was on a "daily" offer from OCUK IIRC - usual price was around £240-£260.
Second hand is a good option definitely - or Amazon marketplace and wait for one of their discounts to be doing the rounds as I picked up my current 1070 for just shy of £300 that way

If you need a graphic card you need one, I get the people saying wait only if your graphics card doesn’t need upgrading but for people who actually can’t play games because of the graphics card then you buy now, who would actually wait and not play.

Same can be said of any retailer though to be honest.

I am still waiting on my Assassins Creed Origins codes from PC World, since October 30th. Have emailed them, gone back to the store, talked to their online team via Facebook and finally sent them a letter.
Got a call 27th Dec saying the code would be with me within 2 hours, never came.
Have the TI version of this, very happy with mine

Not a bad price but I paid £440 for an msi ages ago!

I don't like lights on my computer. I've even taped over my case power LED as it was too bright. Some people fancy LED lights all over like a disco.

They do look nice when you have a window on the side of your tower.

Agreed. Bought a £350 GPU from them. Very clearly showing as available ex-stock. They took payment promptly however subsequently advised product no longer available from them and suggested they were contacted to discuss an alternative - no offer of a refund. Several days later and complaints emails and still no refund. Cannot recommend this company. Awful post-sales service. Absolutely awful.

Yeah that won't work unfortunately as I don't have the access code (which is what PC World give you) to get to the claim. I will be contacting Samsung next, its their promotion
