Interested to hear what folk have to say about this deal. I'm in the market for a good 4k gaming card.
Wait for Volta end of life for Pascal
Starting to come down. Imo a minimum "must" for ultrawide 3440 x 1440 gaming. I had a 1080 before and it didn't quite play games comfortably at ultra. This one does, as long as you don't mind dipping to 60fps in some games (gsync a benefit here).

Your description forgot to mention the mining potential.
Just about 4k 60fps for current games. But Volta will be ultimate 4k 60fps card.
For those that have knowledge about these things how would this cope with the Samsung LC49HG90DMUXEN 49" Curved Monitor?

Any input much appreciated.

I presently have a GEForce GTX 970 fitted which might not be up to the job.
good deal

PS
anything is better then a gigabyte gtx 1080t

Wow that is a nice monitor! The 1080ti is way way quicker than a 970. I upgraded my 970 to a 1080 and its night and day.

Volta is the new Nvidia card to come out early 2018 right? Will that not be significantly more expensive than this?
Thanks.
Not quite got the money for a Ti but on the look out for a 1080 but have some heat!

I have 50 rx 480s been mining etherium for the past 11 months. Nice earner along with my benefits
My personal view due to the cost of these cards is if you want true 4k 2160p gaming now and importantly in a couple of years time with decent frame rates and all the bells and whistles turned to max then wait for Volta. If you are happy with 1440p though then go for it. This card and other 1080ti's are absolute monsters. I got the Asus Rog on black Friday and could not be happier with 1440 smooth as butter gaming.

Volta won't be here for a while yet imo there is no competition there current gen is better than anything else right now so there is no rush for them to release it. But no one really knows apart from nvidia but if i was to have a guess i would say another 6 months at the earliest

Oh man that is very tempting 😁
Would this be an easy straight swap for a GEForce GTX 970 in that the size and connections all match?

Q1 at the earliest / Q2 at the latest. SK Hynix GDDR6 memory enters prodo volume in 2018, that demand is likely to be NVIDIA's Volta GPU's. It would seem unlikely that Nvidia would hoard inventory past late Q1. Many online articles on the matter indicate a Q1 2018 release as most likely.
Latest chips attract a premium, no information on consumer pricing yet.

970 and a 40" 4k samsung tv, overwatch on "high" runs 60fps (16gb ddr3, 4960k at 4.5ghz on air cooling). shit gets warm real quick, but it copes.

Wait for Volta end of life for Pascal

Going to be a long wait, Nvidia are still releasing new Pascal cards. You won't see consumer versions of Volta this year and even if you did they'd be the initial variants only, with newer TI versions under 12 months later which blow them out of the water like we saw with the 1080 and 1080TI. There is no "perfect time" to buy a new GPU, the debate should really be about price.

Is it value for money to have a card that gives better performance for 12months + or stick with one which is under powered? That's the question people need to ask - what value can they get out of it.

For reference the 1080 came out on 27/05/16 with the 1080TI verison less than a year later on 10/03/17.
Getting this model myself for VR, in Thailand though where it's a bit cheaper. Did wonder about the brand/name as I'd never heard of them before, whether it was some Asia specific or dodgy etc. so had a good little research and they seem pretty good, a great, well made card by all accounts.
It doesn't list the free game (destiny 2) but after looking around inno3D have a game redemption page & it's listed on serial number only & doesn't list what model, only a "1080/1080ti). Worth a shot !

I've bought this, I'll let you know if the code works.
Altcoins go up and down though, use a profit switching algo thats not nicehash. Realistic ROI exp would be 7 months with free electric. Most altcoin surges either drop or the difficulty is increased so unless you wanna risk hodling... go with one that pays btc, ether, or ltc. If your into risk, look further afield.
