Hi all

I think this is about as cheap as you can get a 1050Ti at the moment. Cheapest I have seen elsewhere is £999 but I didn't look very hard as its still a bit more than I can justify spending.

The laptop has a 7700HQ, 16GB RAM, 4GB 1050Ti.

The Dell site shows it as having £119 of instant savings at £999 (from an original price of £1,118.99), and then by applying SAVE100 at checkout it drops to £899. Valid until 3rd of May.

Anyway here are the specs in a bit more detail:

Processor
7th Generation Intel® Core™ i7-7700HQ Quad Core (6MB Cache, up to 3.8 GHz)

Operating System
Windows 10 Home 64-bit English

Memory
16GB Single Channel DDR4 2400MHz (16GBx1)

Hard Drive
Dual drives with 256GB Solid State Drive + 1TB 5400 rpm Hard Drive

Video Card
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti 4GB

Display
15.6-inch FHD (1920 x 1080) Anti-Glare LED-Backlit Display

Very similar (but different enough for it to be its own post IMO) to this one (this has a bigger SSD and the 4K screen) I found while checking this wasn't posted:

The screen is a horrendous quality TN panel.
Get the 4K screen or live to regret it.

It's a good spec for the price but the screen (having seen in person) is almost useless.
Definitely go for the HP Omen over this:
http://store.hp.com/UKStore/Merch/Product.aspx?id=1DN33EA&opt=ABU&sel=NTB

use code Spring10 to bring it to £899.10.

It has a superior IPS panel and having seen both in person you do not want a Dell TN panel
can you still get the elite controllers with the omen ?
*just seen expired on the 17th

I bought this on the Dell Outlet refurbished for £630 after student discount of 15%. couldn't believe my luck. It's been delivered and it's in perfect condition. I knew about the screen beforehand but it was still a good price and the screens not that bad in all honesty it's just an average screen but I am going to replace the screen for around £40 to an ips display and there are many videos on YouTube showing how to do this and doesn't take more than 15 mins

are you sure for £40?...tempted. please keep up updated how it goes. Cheers
The US version now have an optional $50 upgrade to IPS screen, hopefully UK will have this option soon.
I was talking to dell through their chat and asked about the screen, the guy told me that they now come with ips screens if anyone is interested, he wouldn't lie to me I don't think.
