Isn't 4k on a 15 inch just a bit of overkill? Or have I missed something!

The scaling on win8/10 should make it worthwhile .

I actually bought it.

I actually spent 674.10 on a laptop.

I'm gonna faint!

Weak dual core cpu along with a weak gpu topped with a slow 5400 hard drive, for this price its the screen that you are paying a premium for.
I guess if that was the deciding factor and only that then an ok deal but otherwise poor.

and the chassis/build quality yes, but the drive can be cheaply upgraded. like you said, its all down to your priorities. for me the resolution would make my work a lot more productive, I would just want a full fat i7 but hey, thats the 'progress' that is the ultrabook. pml

High Res is definitely very pleasing on the eye, better to look at photos/video etc and makes doc/excel work much more bearable. Its better when you plug it to your 50inch TV over HDMI. Depends what you want from your PC, cheaper alternative to a macbook? maybe
