my bad
That screen... I have this model but it has a 1080 ips screen. Not sure if that discription is correct. If so then this is a real bargain.
just ordered the 4K version for £637! absolute bargain! Thanks OP

Really good price for the spec but not sure about pairing a 4K screen with a GTX 1050..?

If you want to play any games at the native resolution of the laptop you'll get about 10 FPS

Good deal for the price of the components but I'd be looking for a 1060 for anyone looking to play games on a laptop.

Well, it’ll scale perfectly 2:1 to 1080p so I guess that’s why and these things aren’t for gaming exclusively. You can use them for work, productivity and media playback too you know!
is it worth paying £100 extra for the 4k screen. yes or no?
is this the 1050ti version?
Very good laptop (I suppose) but without thunderbolt and with 1050 can't call itself gaming....

Thunderbolt has little relevance to gaming... someone was pushing an MX150-powered MSI laptop as a gaming laptop the other day. This is a ‘gaming laptop’. Entry-level, sure, but it is the minimum for a half-decent gaming experience.

It can... and it does

It couldn't say 'plays new games smoothly on highest settings', but it certainly can be used for gaming.

GTX 1050 is a good boost from integrated graphics, making this a lot better for gaming than a laptop with only integrated graphics, which isn't rare at this price
How will this Run Forza Horizon 3 & Forza 7? Forza Apex is also a game I look to play on this

Trigger at the ready... Bummer you can't pay via PayPal!

No. While desktops cards don’t get 4GB 1050s, laptops do.

The card is not powerful enough for new games (I think). I didn't say it isn't a good laptop especially for the price. By I would suppose gaming laptops to be at least 1060. Thunderbolt would be good for external gpu. Imho if someone wants gaming laptop goes to better gpu. If someone wants a more portable one goes to a more portable one. Personally would prefer something with ability to take external gpu easily. But it is a pretty good laptop

I don't know anyone who actually bothers with eGPUs or demands it for something to be considered a gaming laptop. This is an entry-level gaming laptop but even Dell considers it more of a multimedia all-rounder. Thunderbolt is never something I've bothered or cared for, eGPUs are a waste of money at the moment, the external cases tend to cost around £200 without the GPU and performance is still restricted a little because of the bandwidth. If you want Thunderbolt, expect to be paying quite a bit more for the privilege and then even more on top for the eGPU case and actual GPU.
A gtx 1050 and 4k screen? Are they serious? Like pairing a bugatti Veyron engine with a Ford fiesta. Won't be able to run any games at decent frames...

And why not make your own box? Although not sure if u can with Thunderbolt. But u could with express cards pretty cheap. Out of context though. Well for multimedia it's nice but seems a little bulky. Depends what someone needs
Purchased the 4K IPS version for £637.56. May not run games at 4K at a good FPS, but will be used as a multi-purpose laptop so no problems at that price.

Because the other guy said Thunderbolt specifically. I know you can hack the M.2 ports and Expresscard slots (if anyone even has Expresscard slots on their laptops now) but it's just that, an ugly hack, it certainly won't be for everyone.

Yeah I was that guy. I don't know if u can make custom Thunderbolt box. Anyway as I said out of context.

Yeah, sorry, I didn't look. Yes, you can make the box - Gearbest, Banggood, etc. I believe sell them and the leads you need.

The only codes I can find are for poweredge systems, any more codes for laptops other than 7567? Tried adapting it to 'do757730' but that failed for the 7577 systems.cant even see the op's 'do756730' code (?)

1050 is fine for 1080p gaming, and the i7 means it won't be bottlenecked either.

Youll play most games at med/high at 60fps at 1080p. But of course it's not a 1080ti with an 8th gen i9 so definitely not a gaming machine
