Would that be the one in germany, guess thats fine if you only use a kettle once a month and are happy to wait for a new one to be sent out

never had trouble taking stuff back to Aldi!

Have you thought about buying something to work, not to break down?

Keep the receipt and ALDI are excellent at accepting returns. They probably won't have a replacement so may refund, but that is okay. I have bought many things from Aldi and the majority are still going strong. A steam cleaner which broke its nozzle I returned and got a refund. I will buy from them again. I have a tefal quick cup and it is excellent. Over 2 years old so maybe time to look for a replacement for when it gives up the ghost.

The breville is 64p more but looks SO much better. Don't know what they perform like but for looks alone would have to be the breville

ALDI 3 year Guarantee.
Tefal, Breville ?

Pros and cons - only had to use 3 year warranty for aldi once - it had a UK number and return address, not sure where Germany features. The breville is MUCH better looking but I don't like that you have to take the whole thing to tap to refill, or use jug. the Aldi one has detchable reservoir. 3 year warranty is also good.

Both models look good value.

If this can make a single mug of really hot tea from cold water in 6 seconds, I'll eat my mouse pad.

You own one?

I'm a carer and have two patients who have them, I'm so impressed I'm gonna get myself the Breville one .They really do the job quickly.

just bought 1 of these and must say yes it is very quick it does what it says on the box:D and if anything goes wrong within 3 years there is a freephone number to ring 0800 328 6063 which is in the uk which is a BIG bonus and if i had to post it to them the address is

Bought one today.

Tastes just like any other cuppa but I get it a lot faster.
Thank you

mine makes a noise aswell so i think it is normal i live in a first floor flat and often make myself cuppas up to 5.30am so i feel sorry for the old lady in the flat underneath me thats the only negative thing i can say about it so far.just 1 more thing that is bugging me is a couple times now the hot water button light as kept flashing so i had to unplug it and wait a minute then plug in again to get it to work again.i'm not sure what caused it yet but if it keeps doing it it will go back.

I'm interested in this product but it looks very big and as if it will take up a lot of worktop space, does anyone know the dimensions? Also, how much water does it give out at a time, I've been comparing it with the 1st gen Breville one which gives out water in 250ml shots, my mug holds 400ml so I'd need a more continuous flow, does anyone know if this model does that?

I'm glad I am not the only one with the flashing blue light problem. When I followed the steps to clean it yesterday all was fine. We had guests all day so opted to use the normal kettle until they had left. My husband made me a drink and then couldn't get it to do anything else. He like you unplugged it and then it worked again. If you just leave it the light will flash until u get bored and turn it off at the wall. I have tried to ring the help line but keep getting asked to leave name and number. Tried the website but unfortunately its just a holding page. I will see how it goes tonight and tomorrow first thing and call the help line again. If no joy with them will take it back for an exchange in the first instance. Fingers crossed this is just a quirk that will go away. Don't like to think of my hubby once again ( I had a Tefal quick cup) saying I Told U SO!!!

If you just press the button once, it will dispense 250ml.
After that you can push the button again and when the mug is nearly full, push the button yet again to stop the flow.
Allow for a little more water to pour after you stop it.
I like mine but I keep fretting "what can I use it for? I'm not thirsty yet" oO

i rang the helpline today and got through straightaway i asked about this flashing blue light problem and she told me when the blue light flashes it means it as overheated and needs to be unplugged for 15-20 mins then if this happens again try using the kettle without the lid on in case of an airlock so i will try this next time i make a cuppa and hopefully this will work

Hi. Have just purchased on of thses beast's. The noise is very much like a coffee machine I have, I think it's because of the small tank heating the water. My problem is the same as Steve 01723. After making a drink, I have not turned off the machine, and then found the hot water button flashing. I am playing around with it, and think it might be the boil dry mech coming in. Will let you know how I get on.Apart from that I love it. A cuppa in an instant, and no wasted hot water.

I just bought one today and am enjoying my first cup of tea using it. The water is certainly hot enough and though it does make a strange noise, it only lasts a few seconds. Much better & quicker than boiling a kettle. I highly recommend it!

the only way ive found how to stop the blue light flashing is as soon as its finished filling the cup up is to put some cold into a mug/jug then this seems to cool the kettle down stopping it from overheating so far ive only tried this once but the way it is by making a cuppa then overheating spoils this and it would have been nice for them to solve this problem before putting it on sale.its not a new fault they knew about it as soon as i phoned them up and told them about it and she told me it wasnt a fault

so my final verdict is it will be going back to aldi for a refund and i will be getting another make its a shame though as if it wasnt for this it would have been a great kettle but there is no way i am going to make a cuppa then have to unplug it everytime or mess about putting cold water into a jug then filling the kettle back up just to make another cuppa straight after

well heres the update i took it back to aldi today and got a full refund then went to comet and got this

amazon.co.uk/Bre…top
it was £64.99 from comet but the difference in noise 'looks and it even makes tea taste better than the aldi one its been the most ive ever spent on a kettle but i think it was worth every penny ive no regrets at all

Does anyone know where I can buy the instant heat kettle because when I went to the aldi store that morn they said had none left!!!

I had 2 of these. They were really good to start with especially with the variable dispensing amount. My First one last just under 6 months before the lid started to fly open during dispensing. The Second one didn't last as long as that. I have now solved the problem with the Delta one over heating by adding the smallest amount of cold to my cup as soon as hot is dispensed as you suggested. Hasn't overheated since. If it does play up again I will return it and go back to a good old fashioned kettle

Otherwise very pleased with it.

I've looked at the breville ones, it boils the water first before pouring it out, so it takes longer.
I had 2 Tefal ones and they broke down on me within a year and the water temp wasn't hot.
I'm trying this one from Aldi and the water temperature is hot! Tea doesn't taste like it's made on a plane 1000s of feet high!

My one also flashes sometimes, it's only supposed to do that when the boil-dry cut off function occurs to prevent your kettle from boiling nothing when the water tank is empty. Weird but I was given the option to return it. It only happens when I've dispensed some hot water and then switch the power off from the mains and then switch it back on straight away. However, if I dispense 1 cup of hot water and not switch it off from the mains, I can dispense hot water continuously without any trouble

there is obviously a design fault with this product as mine also is continually shutting down, with the blue light indicator flashing, quite often after just one cup of water being dispensed. Have also been unable to reach anyone on the "dedicated help line" surely ALDI or the manufacturerer must be aware of the fact that the product is not fit for purpose and should recall it ?? would apprecaite any updates from any other fustrated buyers - if they have managed to achieve any positive progress in resolving this problem. Otherwise looks like only option is to demand a refund ?? and vent your anger towards Aldi who frankly I would expect more of in terms of proactive product support.

There is obviously a design fault with this product as mine continually shuts down with the blue light flashing after virtually every time i use it. The "dedicated helpline" is just an answer phone and is therefore no help at all.
Surely the manufacturer/Aldi must be aware of the fact that this product is obviously not fit for purpose and should immediately recall same. Has anyone any positive news to report on a successful way to resolve this problem or is the only option to demand a refund and vent your anger at Aldi - who have gone down in my (previously good) estimation as a result of this shoddy product line.
Appreciate any constructive comments that may help all
