Product Description

Instant Pot Duo is a 7 in 1 automatic Electric Pressure Cooker that speeds up cooking by 2-6 times and uses up to 70% less energy and, above all, produces nutritious healthy food in a convenient and consistent fashion.

Instant Pot Duo functions as a 'twin pressure' pressure cooker, slow cooker, rice cooker, steamer, saute, yogurt maker and warmer all in 1. It has 14 built-in smart programs (Soup, Meat/Stew, Bean/Chili, Poultry, Saute, Steam, Rice, Porridge, Multigrain, Slow Cook, Keep-Warm, Yogurt, Pasteurise and Fermenting) cook your favourite dishes with the press of a button whilst you get on with other things.

A 24-hour timer allows for delayed cooking. Automatic keep-warm holds the temperature of the food until you serve it for up to 10 hours.

Instant Pot generates almost no noise and leaks no steam. It traps all the aromas in the food without heating up the kitchen. The slim body design has smaller foot print and lid holders for both left and right handed users. The brushed stainless steel exterior is finger print resistant.

Duo uses the 3rd generation technology with an embedded microprocessor, which monitors the pressure and temperature, keeps time and adjusts heating intensity and protects you with 10 proven safety mechanisms and patented technologies.

This is a good price. I bought mine a few months ago for £114.99. I should have waited.
Love mine. Tempted to buy a 2nd one.

It’s a shame they don’t do the smaller version in the U.K. That would be good.

How do these compare against traditional pressure cookers?

How do these compare against traditional pressure cookers?

I didn’t own a traditional one but these are meant to be safer if used properly. They also have other functions like steam, slow cooker, delayed start timer, keep warm, sauté, rice cooking, yoghurt making.... you can’t do all that with a traditional one. You can also get lots of accessories for the instant pot. This is a good price if you are thinking of getting one.
Have some heat
Why is the original price of this a lot more than similar products? Pressure King etc... Does it do other things?
Bought this 3 days ago for 120

I havent opened it though, will they refund the dif?

I had the pressure King, cheap materials, crap. People finding the copper is flaking off and contaminating their food.
The £169.99 RRP is an eyewash, it has been on £119 for as long as I can remember. It was still overpriced. Goes on to show how disconnected the prices are to value.

But now back to a sensible price. Ordered. Thank you.

Brilliant deal. I almost bought it yesterday for £119.99! Glad I held off.
always wanted one. just going to get it to replace my plastic steamer. the only concern is this is too big for a single person and food food gets burnt off becaus eof that

I tried the Pressure King Pro and this and as stated the Instant Pot is much better made, allows slow cook options with the lid off (you can use the glass lid), has more accessories and better support. Its expensive at £119.99 but a bargain at this price!
Does it cook rice nicely, as I have rice almost every day.

Unfortunately they don't sell the 3qt one in the UK. This 6qt one is the only one we can get. In America they have a whole range of models. Different sizes, smart models and all sorts.
Been tracking this one for over a month, never been lower than £115. At £79 is a steal. Heat added!

I have been looking at receipes for cooking then freezing casseroles, stews, etc, made in this over the past week. I am single also and the only way I could justify it would be to make a pot of stew, portion it i to containers and then freeze them.

I am told that this isphysicslly very big.

Contact them first and see if they refund the difference. It depends who you speak with. Customer service is inconsistent at Amazon. If they refuse then you will have to send one back and re-buy. Re-buy it first, then when the next one comes, say one of them doesn't live up to expectations. You are disappointed etc. Don't just say you've changed your mind as you'll have to pay return postage.

Are these non stick?

It isn't initially as it comes as standard with a stainless steel pan. However, they sell a non-stick ceramic coated pan that you can use. It's about £15 on Amazon. If you get that you will have 2 pans. The stainless steel pan isn't too bad at sticking though...depending on what you're cooking. Look for the non stick one on Amazon.

I'm a single person and I've got one. You can do batch cooking. Or for smaller portions you can put a Pyrex or other ovenproof dish inside the pot and cook that way. Just fill the pot with water and use the steam rack. Also search for 'stackable insert pans' on Amazon. They are 2 stainless steel pans that stack on top if each other. You can cook two things at once. Rice and meat etc.

I was just about to ask about cooking smaller portions as there are usually only two of us at home so thanks for the info. Have some heat - my pressie to me sorted!

Look at my comment below. it's good for batch cooking but you can also do small portions in it.

Yes it does. There are lots of tutorials online showing you how to do it. Equal ratio if water to rice works for many people.

You can sauté the rice with some flavoured oil after washing and steeping it, then add the water and some seasonings. This will bring the flavours to another level.
Is it really as good as people make out? The reviews seem to be split between those who think it is the best thing ever and those who think it is hugely over-rated.

I think the only differences are that this one makes yoghurt and has two pressure levels. High and low. Your one just has high. Other than that I think the functions are the same.
