Just in my local ASDA on the hunt for velcro cable ties for my work network and found these.

They were labelled up as £1 per pack of 10, but scanned at 10p per pack!

Bargain, and makes them cheaper than single-use plastic zip ties!

Is there anything dangerous about wrapping up cables like this?

Nope, as long as you do not coil the wire. i.e. fold the wire then tie wrap.

For the short lengths of most power cables you should be fine. I use them for tidying up patch cables coming into/out of switches as they're more convenient than zip ties.

One thing you don't want to do though, is bunch power cables with analogue audio wires as they can sometimes pick up mains hum.

Hehe.......yes that looks suspiciously like a coil........ naughty picture!!
Just to expand a little for those interested, no harm would be done if it is a signal cable but a coil of mains cable will heat up if there is a significant current through it.........Its that bloke Eddy Currents fault! ;-)

what colour are these? or is it a mix black red yellow like on the box?

well none in my asda! they had some for £5 ripp!
