Bah, got one online on Black Friday for the £179 price, but 7% Quidco so takes it to about the same price.

Not a bad laptop, although no DVD, reasonable battery life and not too much crapware to remove.

It was £169 on Black Friday . I got one and Macafee for £5 . Still a good deal .

Didnt open it up as I bought it as a present for GF . Flubited a Samsung slim optical external drive for £13.50 . There was a blank on it where the optical drive would be on some other models - maybe theres a SATA socket behind there too ?

I thought about looking for socket that but since mine is also for a present I didn't want to faff about trying to pull the cover off.

seems like a good deal. anyone know of a better laptop for similar money?

At that price you would struggle for a better deal . Obviously not for gaming ,but for email ,surfing etc will be fine . A full size ,grown up laptop for £160 and if you want the CD drive , about £13-£14 to buy an external one .

is this any good for facebook games?

The games are either Java or Flash based and this laptop will cope admirably.

Thank you gibblesuk, that's the kids sorted!

it might not come with java or flash pre installed however, if you need help installing just DM (message) me and i will guide you through. They are free downloads but if not careful also installs other junk which you wont want. ;-)

I was going to get one of these, but found a better one for less than £200 with a quad core processor and DVD drive on ebuyer.

Nice, you should post it if this isn't on as a deal already since it is a reduction which would keep the 'this isn't a deal' types quiet.
