I am insured with them, fortunately never had to use them.

I never normally bother, but for a phone worth £500+. it is best to do so!

just read the T&C's and this is actually not a bad deal, covers all phones in the household (over 16 YOA) and can be loss, theft or accidental and i cant find any mention of an excess fee

my one overiding thought with these insurance companies is, how confident am I they will pay out?

For that reason I go with my bank as I know loads of people that have claimed no problem

iPhone T&C states £50 excess for accidental damage and £75 for theft and loss.

Also, a lot of exclusion terms in legalese. Policy doc here http://www.insurance2go.co.uk/docs/policy-document.pdf

So has anyone actually claimed from them and did they pay out? Easy to buy but it's the claim process that matters.

I am thinking of getting this for the Carphone warehouse iPhone 5 deal that I got.

Most banks do as a paid upgrade to your current account.

My phone was stolen from my handbag, they refused to replace because I wasn't attacked. Stay away!!

Doesn't home insurance have high excesses like £250, well mine does.

Every bank will do something like this for about £7 including loads of other things. At least you have cover with as company you can walk in and complain.

And for anyone saying "home insurance" sorry you're wrong, if I damaged my phone I would want to pay a £100 odd excess, lose my no claims discount, and be paying an extra £100 odd a year then onwards. (Ignoring most home insurances don't cover mobile phones s all, especially from accidental damage ou of the home)

I think the Nationwide FlexPlus covers a load of other features includinging breakdown for £10 a month. I'm actually interested to switch over to them.

Halifax Reward account gives mobile insurance as one of the benefits. Only a £30 excess for anything other than an iPhone too.

Interesting guys, keep the info coming. The Halifax rewards account is £15 a month unless you pay in £750 monthly, should you fall out of work could be costly.

Bank of Scotland Silver account is now £10 pm I think, gives AA cover, European travel insurance, mobile phone cover (Excess £50 for iphone, £25 everything else). Pretty good deal tbh, I used to pay vodafone £13pm just for iphone 4 insurance
