Woah!

Great price

Seriously cheap! Bought one, not sure I need it but it feels wrong not to have it at that price

For that price is buy one and stick in my PC at work. IT don't exactly throw good kit at us.

While its a good deal i doubt they will hit anywhere near those speeds … While its a good deal i doubt they will hit anywhere near those speeds and as they're new there is no way to check. However this doesnt mean you'll notice a difference if the read is only ~400MBps

Certainly better than a standard laptop drive

3 Year warranty, got to try it!

...That is....try the SSD..............not the warranty... :-)

reviews here look good, not sure what they say tho!

I'd personally wait a bit and pay the extra £6 to get a Sandisk Ultra II or SSD Plus when they're on offer but for those who need a cheap SSD now this looks like a great deal.

If you add a similar % increase to a whole build a £200 PC becomes £250, £400 becomes £500.
For most there isn't that much of a gain.

Insanely cheap, as cheap as a 128gb flash drive or memory stick!. Just bought the Sandisk 240gb deal for £44.99, 120gb would have lasted me a while so could have gone for this.

Thinking the same, but this should be good for some sensitive data backup in a portable enclosure

It is a good price but I bought the recent Sandisk offer which I am pleased with. It would be interesting to get some feedback from someone who buys this on speeds though for future reference

Ta nice find, will do nicely for Linux Mint

Not really, £6 =/= £50 but I get what you mean, I'm just saying for £6 it's probably worth upgrading to a SanDisk drive which have been proven to be reliable and are slightly faster.

But, of course, if you're looking for as cheap as possible this is a great deal.

worth getting just for the ps4? I know it's not really big but I only ever one game at a time. playing the division atm and loading times are pretty long. would this rectify the problem?

Ditto. If you paid using their own payment system rather than Google or Paypal, you could just cancel the order. I didn't and it looks like I'd have to phone to ask to cancel it. However I'd rather have the versatility from a few lowish capacity drives than one large one so have no trouble justifying buying this one as well as its so cheap.

Brilliant price. Wish this was on offer last week. Bought a sandisk 128gb from a hot uk dealer (Sagor) from here for £30 to revive an old laptop. Just wanted to spend £25. This is not a complaint about Sagor he gave great service and would buy from him again.

The Sandisk is being delivered tomorrow, so can't be bothered with cancelling. Mind you, it's for my main laptop, never found it that appealing to send back a hard drive with all my personal data on it, so probably not worth the risk.

I'd probably have to be seen to do some work for that to stick.

This may sound silly, but can I use this in a desktop PC if it's it laptop only? If I can use it in a PC do I need anything extra like a caddy or something?

Thanks

Will need a 3.5 to 2.5 hdd caddy like this http://www.amazon.co.uk/PRIMECASES®-Mounting-Adapter-Bracket-Holder/dp/B00K0D065Q/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1458169669&sr=8-2&keywords=3.5+to+2.5+hdd+adapter or you could just tape it in place to the bottom of your current drive bay

Thanks, ordered. Don't need it but couldn't resist.

Thanks for posting this deal OP. This will revive and old Core2Duo that's been sitting in the cupboard.

Tempted to get this for my Asus K53e running Linux Mint. Should speed things up a tad.

Some cases have native 2.5" drive support, it's something worth checking before buying a 3.5" to 2.5" adapter.

wow this is cheap

I've got a 500GB hard drive in my laptop and it's like 95% full already, so looking for a 1TB replacement now.

I always wondered what could be the usefulness of these smaller sizes? ie, what can you use 120GB SSD for? and do you need another hard drive for storage in this case?

People tend to use low-storage SSD's for their operating system and programs they use a lot. Makes a ton of difference.

Then you can use a cheaper (but much, much slower) hard drive (1,2, 4TB or whatever) for everything else. Games, media, whatever.

On a system that can only accommodate one internal drive it makes sense to use the largest capacity you can. But on a system where you can install more than one drive, a small boot drive (like this) + other drives for data can be a good option and personally the route I would take. Even on a laptop where you could replace the DVD (if there's one) I would use a small SSD and a large SSD/HDD in place of the DVD.

This would also make a pretty fast/robust portable drive if used with a usb 3.0 enclosure (under £10).

You'll find that most people just use sticky tape or blu-tak. I did with all 3 pcs that I stuck ssds in.
