JeezO, I remember paying £99 for a 256mb one of these!!

That's nothing, I paid £99 in the eighties for a 64kb ram expansion for my Sinclair zx81!
I loaded 288 x 720p cult 70s, 80s and 90s movies onto a 256gb Sandisk USB, and leave it in the bedroom TV. I love randomly jumping to a random scene of a random film for something to fall asleep to. Last night it was the pilot to Knightrider. It blows my mind that a whole video store fits on something the size of a grasshopper.

would this be any good for recording TV off my Philips 55OLED754? It says minimum 250GB but I'm unsure if a flash disk would be as good as a HDD and whether 250GB will actually store much content.

Have got one of these, speed is abysmal, would not recommend if you are after fast-ish transfers.

Sandisk Ultra have usually been better, but they are slightly more expensive. Maybe if you find one of offer...

Could this potentially be used as expansion storage for a PS4?

I would assume so as it's USB 3, but would likely just fit for a single AAA game.

The quicker usb3 drives are more expensive. There aren't brilliant quick cheap ones or noone would buy the expensive ones!

No it couldn't,the PS4 needs 250gb USABLE storage.....this ,when formatted won't be big enough.

I hope you've got those movie files backed up somewhere else? Can't really trust this USB HDs when it comes to failures and corruption.
The aluminium body feels very robust and is so compact that it is hardly noticeable when plugged in to a USB port.
so as

Carldiff already asked -

would this be any good for recording on TV with usb slots,
ie anyone using it?

Well that was a bargain as the standard RAM expansion for a zx81 was only 16k.

well no-one had a better suggestion so I have played it safe with something I know should work.

indeed, but maybe u may want to look into getting a SSD instead of a HDD, as they are faster than HDD as no spinning discs inside so relatively more robust if dropped or fall off the back/side of the tv usb slot

I've decided the massive storage of a HDD is worth it, I can afford to wait a few more seconds for my programmes.
Goes hot even though Write Speed is not specified. Oh, HUKD.
Does anyone have/know of any MyMemory discount codes flying about out there by any chance?, or ... lol, thanx.

Do you mean the section of the specs table where it says "Write Speed 14MB/s" ?

i guess the cheaper/larger storage cost ratio wins for u ...however backing up the HDD is recommended though.
I paid £1 for an A4 jotter last week.
Holy mackerel! I remember back in the day when I would pay £19.75 for two bits of toast!!

Wait, I've gone wrong somewhere. MyMemory ain't what it used to be.
Would be tempted if it wasn't integral. Had a 128GB integral Flash drive which corrupted, so not for me.

Yes, that IS what I mean. (I'll get my coat). Still funny that it goes hot at this "speed". I voted hot for a laugh.

Even if it worked I think the transfer rates would be slower than the internal SATA drive.

On 2 separate occasions in the past when I've done 'similar', get who's Deal was rather removed, in favour of someone else's, etc etc?. :-(

Needless to say, I'd call dibs on your Deal back, basically?, lol.

For real ... :-D
