I think that machine has an M2 SATA slot for an optional SSD....

M.2 is the socket format... but there are variants that are not compatible with each other:
M.2 SATA is different electronically to M.2 Nvme. This deal is for M.2 Nvme and your machine (I think) requires M.2 SATA Look inside your machine's M.2 slot and see if it has 1 or 2 notches (cut outs)

Thanks for that info, much appreciated you took the time for me, I have took the flap off the bottom and it only has 1 on the pins divider rather than 2 on the sata one, mmm

You need to find the specification, the fivetech.co.uk site is LaptopOutlet so they may be re-branded Chinese OEM devices.

It looks like they have eMMC memory, which means they sort of have a soldered in MMC memroy card (that over simplifys it) so the answer is you probalby can't upgrade the memory in it, however without seeing a manaul or an image of a motherboard its impossible to be 100% sure.

no problem....hope that clears things up, M.2 sockets are a pain if you're not sure what's required.

It appears to be a rebrand of the Geo Flex 2 (please read and check thorougly as I only glanced at this)

Quite supride it has a M2 for a cheaper machine, You need to read the manaul. (sorry!)

How long is the slot? You can get modules in different lengths - 30, 42, 80, 110mm

Unfortunatly as has been pointed out the M.2 Is the connector type, your machine may support NVMe but it equally could only support SATA or it could support both, there no way to tell by looking at the connector
@Bendown Yes looks like it is M.2 nvme, which is different to what others say that laptop has! - you can either take a chance this'll work or do more research for your exact model of laptop and see what specifications it lists.

I have the GeoFlex 3, which was a Five Guys freom here. It has a 80mm NVME slot and it is a flyer since I stuck it in... Makes a useless laptop into a usable one. Add another Micro SD card for OneDrive or whatever and it is a half decent machine and very slim....

The problem is with a lot of the chinese OEM rebrand devices its entirely possible that the physical internal hardware may see changes but the "brand name and model" name remains the same, hence why its really hard to be sure without a manual...

The SLOT is a M.2, it may or may not support NVMe, or it may only support SATA I hope for @bendown that is does support NVMe it would make an awesome upgrade, but without more details its hard to be sure.its compatable..

Yes mate, but for most you won't ever notice, especially with the small size of the drive. You are unlikely to be moving 100GB files over and back to it?

Thanks. On a drive this small wouldn't you hit the limit well before 100GB? I think it's only the much larger SSDs that have a 100GB pseudo SLC cache!

Yeah you will, but I was only trying to sayin general you wouldn't use a budget drive like this for that sort of work, would you. These are EXCELLENT drives by the way. I have used Integral for years and no issues with them.. Just go for it!
Perfect timing, build 99% done just needed some fast storage!
Ordered the 128gb version for £24.99. arrived faulty "Fatel hardware error". returning. get what you pay for.

If it helps I have the geobook 3x (I believe it's the same machine) and it is m.2 SATA only.

B key or M + B key.
NOT M key only, which is what NVMe is.

Oh that's awesome , was just a lil concerned...great find btw
Currently using a Samsung 840 EVO SSD from an old build but wanted something a bit more modern with matching speed for my new build (Ryzen 5 3600X). Thanks pal.
This must be about the fifth time I've seen these crop up on HUKD.
There isn't much evidence of how reliable and good they are. I'd rather spend a bit more on a brand with a longer warranty - especially if you are going to run windows on it.

It’s down to the key type by connector. Same place @spannerzone quoted has the key types:
But it is best to check the specs or mainboard PCB (as it’s usually printed on it).

Yep, I think it supports NMVe as it looks to have six pins by the notch but can’t be absolutely sure
I don’t want to say it’s defiantly one or the other and someone buys the wrong drive as the specs got changed internally . There are two post here one saying the internals are NVMe the other saying it’s SATA only....

The M.2 socket has something like 12 different slot specifications, thankfully you only see three in use most of the time which reduces the chance of error

Sold out?

Does anyone remember the good old Dell Mini 9 here on HUKD? And trying to find the right SSD for an upgrade to run Snow Leopard faster than a normal Macbook Must have been at least 10 years ago.
Many ordered 32GB Runcore drives from the USA. Dell supplied a 4GB STEC which was quite slow.

Probably already answered but the fivetech needs a SATA. Installed upside-down (you'll know what I mean when yiu install it). This WD one works (well the 120GB one does - I've installed a few).

EDIT. If you're on a tight budget get a 120GB warehouse one for £20 amazon.co.uk/gp/…R9S
