Great price - am very tempted by this.

Has anyone got either of these. Need to replace both hob and oven in a holiday property and this seems a good deal.

I ordered them last week, but they haven't arrived yet. Delivery time is quite slow - just under 3 weeks. Both seemed to get good reasonable reviews on the Argos site though. I'm guessing the reviews are from when they were at full price, too.

Hiya, yes we had the hob and it was really good had to replace it as one of the rings went after years though,so definitely
worth it's money great deal x

Can you put this in a built under carcass? Need one to sit under the worktop with the hob in the worktop but i've just been told there are different types?

Measure the hole that it will go into ours just fitted perfectly on top and was level with the work surface

Thanks for the heads up on delivery, yes reviews are good.

TBH, for the money and make it seems a good deal, if anything to good.

From what I believe, ovens are a standard size. The internal size may differ.

Built in ovens (which this is one of) are generally about the same size. If the intention is to site this under the hob a bit of basic joinery is required to build a cover/plinth to sit below the oven to cover the gap between the bottom of the oven and the carcass/plinth. What I'm trying to say is the space you are installing the oven will be much bigger than the oven so the remainder of the hole will need covering (oven requires 60cm space for the height, carcass will be around 72cm)

I have this at home and have had it for about 1.5 years now and its really good and great value for money!!

Some good appliance bargains on my deal over here -> http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/b-q-kitchen-appliance-clearance-100s-items-various-discounts-50-case-1508577

Not necessarily as good as this but it might give some more choice.

It looks a cheap one to me & about the same price or similar to other oven hob deals. The RRP is a joke.

It looks cheap because it is cheap! I couldn't find any other oven hob deals at the moment that were less than this. Please update this thread and let us all know the other similar deals though, so we can have more options.

EDIT: I agree - The RRP is almost certainly over-inflated, but even so, the offer price seems pretty good value for what it is to me.
Edited by: "ben.harris" 25th Mar 2013

Thing is this is not cheap. Wickes do promo on these packages all the time. Plus you want a gas hob with electric oven for the best combo usuability. I paid less that 300 quid for stainless steel indesit electric oven, gas hob and extractor hood from wickes delivered, I think the oven and hob were around 235 quid the hood was 50 quid. That was a month or so ago but the offer was on most of the time from the end of last year.

Will this be cheaper to run than my 1300w portable halogen oven? obviously this has much more space.

ordered cheers

nice , thanks op

Completely agree on this if you live somewhere with gas. However, not all of us do and in my case I don't have the option of gas, so this was the best combo I could find for a fan oven (not a conventional electric oven) with a reasonable hob (not solid plate), for the least money.

OK, well that's still £45 more than this combo (when you exclude the hood) and not currently available!

Great deal but unfortunately bad timing for me. Have some heat.

Oven is the same model as this £169 Logik at Curry's (with slightly different door) but rebranded:

currys.co.uk/gbu…tml

One company will manufacture these & all the own brand merchants will rename them & have slightly different knobs / doors.

Makes the Argos Pack great value!

Had an answerphone message left from Argos on Thursday saying they'd refund the additional £10 to my card, bringing the price I paid in line with the new price!

Would suggest anyone else who paid the original and are awaiting delivery, drop Argos an email asking for a price-match.

Single ovens will sit in a standard 600mm oven housing. (for example http://www.diy.com/nav/rooms/kitchens/it-kitchens/it_kitchen_cabinets/-specificproducttype-appliance_housing_cabinets/it-Kitchens-White-Oven-Housing-Base-Cabinet-600mm-9292256)

Double ovens require a 600mm gap and require metal runners to be screwed to the adjacent units.

The best thing to do is to download the fitting instructions from the manufacturers website if you can find them

Well, mine arrived this afternoon and I've just finished installing it. Haven't used it yet other than to test turning them on, but they look a definite improvement on the 1980's hob and oven that was there previously! If only the rest of the kitchen was updated to match now. Can't see my landlord going for that one, unfortunately.

Great job there Ben. Hopefully mines coming next Monday.

Nice job Ben. How did you finish off under the oven - is it a drawer?

That finishing cover under the old oven was already there, but I'm thinking of buying the insides of a draw and turning it into one. I did a bit of searching last night and I think something like this is what I need:

Is it only 1 x shelf in the oven ??

Wow - thread resurrection! :-)

No, there are two shelves in the oven, not just one. Looks like Argos still sell the package too, albeit about £40 more expensive now. Both my oven and hob are still working great, too.
