i thought celerons were rubbish? seems pretty good for the price though

Celeron's used to be rubbish!
P4 based Celeron's were terrible..but then again so was the P4!

This cpu can run at 4GHz! It's a total bargain really!

Another thing to mention. If you spend over £50 you get free super saver delivery

Seriously cheap for a cheap build!

This really is a good processor at this price, it overclocks well, and runs cool.

Without starting an AMD v Intel war.... I prefer the intels as they clock higher, but I am sure people will disagree....

I have a E5200 (dual core stock at 2.5Ghz) overclocked to 3.8Ghz, and I have the E3300 @ 3.6Ghz.

Superb given the price.

They may overclock well but still slower than older C2D chips in games due to the castrated 1MB L2 (512kb each core), a lower clocked C2D with larger L2 cache (4-8MB) will massively out perform this chip even if you manage to run it at 3.6GHz.

A cheap second hand E4300 (2MB L2 cache) for £25 can be overclocked to 3GHz+, will outperform this E3300 running at 3.6GHz.

Not voted, people who play games better off buying a cheap second hand E6xxx with 4MB L2 cache chip instead for not much more.

Yes can see you point and is a valid one. However your comparing a new product to a second hand one.

Also at this level I suspect the graphics card will be the limiting factor in someones budget gaming build.

I'm looking at upgrading an old system for Photoshop. Leaning more towards a 3 core AMD for £55, this is good for the money though.
