Looks a good buy to me Thanks edi!

It does look good, thanks

Looks a good deal and I'm tempted however it's not clear if the graphics are on-board or a pci-e card and whether it cna be upgraded easily. Does anyone know ?

Thanks, Neil

Thanks Ray, Cat & neh0

Not sure about the on-board graphics neh0, may be someone else can help ;-)

The graphics are a seperate card rather than integrated. it is a pretty low end card tho. It only has 64MB of video memory onboard but has the "turbo-cache" feature to use system memory to make it up to 256MB when it needs it.

With respect to upgrades it would be straightforward to buy a better card and just swap it out.

Just realised that the figures on memory are at odds with the 512 stated in the OP. My info was taken from the Packard-bell page for this model

im almost postive that its not onboard graphics, and its a PCI-E card. And as you prob know, that graphs card is absolute pants and would need upgrading if this machine is going to used for gaming. Ive got a Packard Bell machine similar to this and recently just upgraded my graphs card with no problem at all.

EDIT: destro404: you just beat me to it... useful info for others about the 'turbocache' system as well

Not sure this is such a good deal Edi - DELL will sell you a slightly higher spec machine (2GB, 2.4GHz, 320GB, Vista Home Premium, 19" Widescreen) for a mere £379 configure.euro.dell.com/del…756 (including the 2.40GHz Core2Duo upgrade)
