Note this is not entirely identical to the other deal. In contrast this machine has double the hard disk capacity! Kudos to that!

The only thing that lets this down INHO in the motherboard and the fact it only has 2 Ram slots, if it had 4 and the cabability to expand up to 8gb cheaply by adding 2 more 2gb Dimms then I would have bought this straight away... but its still a good deal...

Agreed - this is a good deal, but I would rather spend an extra 10 pounds and have the option to stick in another 4 GB of RAM.

This deal with be available until approx 1pm Monday

This is what the courier DPD does, many retailers are using DPD now.

Yeah DPD are awesome, why can't other courier give you that timeslot feature?

Then they have changed a lot, they still owe me money from 7 years back. On the phone for hours & hours no reply, No reply to emails. Never bought from them since.

Nice spec for price just need to stick a decent graphics card in.

... and an operating system

I'm going to need something like this soon

i got in on the very similar deal last week and it's a good system, it isnt prebuilt though you will get it all in boxes, not that it takes a lot to build. Also if you can go down to scan and collect i would reccomend, they have a pretty amazing setup in the shop, all the latest tech out for you to have a play with.

thats one bad mofo monkey boy lol.

Missed out on the last one, may not dither so much with this. So the hardware is exactly the same in this as the last deal, BUT for the extra hard drive space? Also what is the alternative mobo that was mentioned in the other thread? I dont mind forking out a little more

I don't have Windows 7 yet, so I was wondering if this would still work with Xp.
Not too bothered about having 7's features, I just want something that will work faster for a reasonable price. What ya think
Any comments and advice appreciated.

Thanks, John.

This will still work with XP. A few limitations pointed out here: XP

Worth getting Windows 7 if you can for future compatibility

I got the previous deal last Monday. Very easy to build system (and for £8.50 Scan will insure you against breaking any parts when you build it!). I have kids at school so could get Win 7 Pro 64bit for approx £40 from Software4students. Didn't buy a graphics card as have xbox360 for gaming - pc runs very fast for anything I need it for. Scan delivered next day, highly recommended as cost far less than a prebuilt system and putting it together was very straight forward.

Would be tempted if this has Win 7.

And a DVD Drive

if you're still in education (school/college/uni) or know anyone in that positition you should try find out if your institution is in the MSDNA (microsoft alliance) as they provide you with free copies of windows 7.

how much are the parts individually?? Is it worth breaking and selling individually?

£245.22 total after a quick google if built separately - obvious add on a bit for postage etc

Crazy that loads of people are willing to pay £46 to get a few parts slotted into one another, less then 30 mins work.

Thanks Peter, for replying and for posting that link. Answered everything I wanted to know.

Why would you need an extra 4GB of RAM? The existing 4GB is more than enough for almost anything you would do with it. It would have almost no impact unless you were using extremely large graphics files in something like photoshop.

I'm unsure whether this is pre-built or not, could someone confirm?

can you post links to the same itesm for that price? I want a pc of this spec at that price..

Looks like about the right money to me, had a look for these parts best I could see was 78 for cpu, 70 for hdd, case 48, mobo 62 and ram 36. So 294 total but some were weekend deals so usually higher.
There were some places that advertised cheaper but had no stock and probably wouldn't buy from them myself if they did.
You could swap parts and get £63 Samsung HDD on offer at scan for 287.
Missed the deal earlier in the week, thinking of buying.
Kevlar or mubs can you post any links please to cheaper prices than these for those parts please?

Prob going to get this deal, what's a decent graphics card suitable for this PC around the £75 mark?

Nice system, if you switch the case with a sideways HTPC case, put in a BR/DVD RW, and add in a 5450, you have a nice little HTPC

once you have paid for the system plus those parts you could have just brought yourself a nice little HTPC

Good deal, however, I wish it was the Asus P7H55-M/USB3 mobo - as the addition of USB3.0 ports and extra SATA 6Gb/s sockets would make it an instant BUY-IT-NOW for me. (more future-proofing).

Are you on about a pre-built all-in-one with far less expansion/upgrade options and internal TV-Tuner option like a Zotac or a Acer? If not then my bad
