this deserves heat.

Creeping down again, just wish I could afford one at the moment

Good spot, thanks.

Ah I didnt realise this had been posted minutes before I did. Good deal, I added heat to yours.

I'm looking at getting one of these, a GTX 670 and a Asus SABERTOOTH Z77 Motherboard to build myself a gaming computer. Would this PSU be suitable?

why 750W?

I don't know, I'm new to this. I figured it would allow me to do upgrades in the future, without any hassle.

Better GPU or possibly running two 670s in SLI.

Could someone tell me whether this, or sandy bridge i5 2500k is better?
Thank you

do you game on a single monitor? I doubt you will ever do GTX670 SLI.

Thanks - only took delivery of this on Saturday - will apply for a £5 refund from Amazon.

I'm a console gamer, but I've decided to jump to PC Gaming. I'll only use a single monitor though. I take it that 750w is overkill?

for a single GTX670 it is. you're looking at branded ~550W for single GTX670 system.

Thanks. Will look for another PSU then.

This is what I've decided on so far:

i5-3570K

Asus SABERTOOTH Z77 Motherboard

CiT Vantage Type-R Gaming Case with HD Audio, 4 Fans, Card Reader and No PSU
amazon.co.uk/CiT…8-2

Corsair CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9 8GB 1600MHz CL9 DDR3 Vengeance Memory Two Module Kit

EVGA GeF GTX 670 2GB GDDR5 Graphic Card

Excluding the PSU, does this seem ok for a Gaming Computer?

I just noticed that Amazon are possibly price matching Aria as they have a today special on this at the same price. If they are then the price will probably go back to £167.99 tomorrow morning so order it quick if you want one!

It doesn't half look like a box of Tampax.

Havent heard that one before... good joke...

*sarcasm*

biddilybah go to tinyurl.com/fal…ide look on the far right how much you want to spend (it's roughly 1:1 $:£ since companies don't adjust their prices for us in the UK) and then that's a great place to start with which components to get. Don't skimp on monitor either, you're going to be staring at it for hours at a time so spending extra is well worth it.

What's the process for doing that? Mine arrived this morning!

£159.98 at Aria

Bought this last week for £177 so definately a good deal. Have some heat.

I bought a 3570k for £148 back in may, why the jump in price since then?

Amazon used to refund any price difference, up to a month after purchase, if memory serves me correctly. However they do not do this any more..... You may be out of luck o_t-_e....

Add delivery to that in the basket and it comes to £169.52. Plus it's a "SuperSpecial" which means even Aria forum users with free delivery still have to pay shipping.

This is around 20% faster and Quick Sync is around twice as fast IIRC.

Get this if you need a new CPU. Though it's not worth upgrading from Sandybridge for most.

They won't do it.

I've told them I'll send this one back and order another one at a cheaper price!

Would I notice much of a difference - I'm still running my trusty Q6600 for graphics and rendering mainly

Basically I followed the instructions and used the link here:

forums.moneysavingexpert.com/sho…774

Just got an e-mail back saying they will give me a £6 refund:

"We recognise that you have a choice of retailers and appreciate that you prefer to order from us. Please note that we don’t extend a post-order price guarantee.

I've looked at your order and can see that the price change was significant and you just received this item from us. Under the circumstances, I'll make a one-time exception for you and issue a refund for the price difference in the amount of 6.00 GBP.

Refunds usually go through within 2 to 3 days and you’ll see this amount credited on your next statement. This doesn’t include your bank’s processing time.

When the refund is completed, we'll send you an e-mail to confirm the date, amount and payment details. You can see completed refunds if you visit Your Account, after receiving this confirmation e-mail.

You can see returns and refunds in the Your Account section of our website."

Sorted. The online chat person/robot refused but I've since spoken to them in person and they did it straight away.

Thanks

The 2500k overclocks better, but the 3570k is a slightly better chip. They are much of a muchness. If you overclock et the 2500 and if not the 3570. I disagree it is 20% faster. Price will probably be a factor and which moboard you have.
