Good price but an utterly pointless processor. Only works on expensive X299 boards, only supports dual channel, no hyperthreading, lower IPC than Kanylake on Z270.

Both Intel and AMD have better options on the Z370 and Ryzen platforms.

Would be far better off with a i5 8400 for £150 and save money on the required mobo (more if you wait for the inc lower end mobos).

It's not a bad processor, just the platform is expensive at RRP and there's complications with only 16x PCIe lanes. There was a half price full featured Aorus X299 board for £160 the other week, would work quite well with it, plus it's upgradable to anything S2066 later on.

I updated my machine with a cheap 7740X and the Aorus board the other week. It's perfect for my current use as I need fast single threaded performance and worked out cheaper than a Coffee Lake CPU and board while being CPU upgradeable in the future, where Z370 won't be...
Bought a Damn Celeron For a Mining Rig, Now have a GTX 1080 that can't play games, this would have been perfect but it's 7th Gen
