For a MAC? .. thats HOT!! .. thanx OP. :-)

Refurbs back in stock at Apple if you're not fussed about the 3yr warranty and JLP service.

http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/refurbished-11-6-inch-macbook-air-1-3ghz-dual-core-intel-core-i5-599-apple-1891534?page=4#post21652473

I considered cancelling my refurb and getting a JLP one for the warranty, but realised I probably won't own it for much longer than 12m so not worth it for me. I don't know why I'm telling you all this story.

In my opinion..best laptops/home computer you can buy. Yeah there isn't a lot of storage but no self-respecting tech home should be without a Nas or a big hard drive to lug your music and box sets around on. HOT!

Some new models were introduced this week so do compare price/spec of these before buying.

Great deal on these .... would definitely go for JL for the 3 year warranty. They are a pretty timeless design and won't look tired or elderly in 3 years.

Not a bad deal but if you have educational discount the new 2014 models from Apple are cheaper, for example the 11 inch starts at £644.40 and the 13 inch at £729.60.

I've had a MacBook Air with a 256GB SSD for a couple of years now. I've not run out of space yet (due to offloading videos to a portable HDD), but you can easily expand the storage with 128GB StorEDGE card (uk.camelcamelcamel.com/PNY…2Q8?active=price_amazon). They work well with the Airs as they're more flush with the case. I'm just waiting for it to drop below £85 in price before I buy one.

Awesome deals.

I have a 2011 model MBA 13" I purchased as used from eBay.

Been using it for nearly 2 years now, still looks great, still runs as smooth as silk and as fast as lighting, and I haven't had to mess about with any antivirus software at all.

Now compare that with my other halfs 6 month old advent laptop (which cost £400), it has already slowed down, she keeps getting all of those annoying antivirus upgrade messages, and certain programs crash when in the middle of something.

For those looking for a good solid laptop, these deals are not to be missed. Yes it will cost more now, but when you look at it still going strong 5-8 years later, you will think 'what a bargain'

only 3yr guarantee? thought it was 5 with JL?

5 years is a TV and White goods thing at JL.

^^^^on TVs only

These are still overpriced for a laptop.

It's because you love us, I'm a male so I can't bear your children though. If anyone wants to send me one of these for free then please do so.

These are utterly horrible to repair so don't break the screen for God's sake.

They lean more towards a netbook than a laptop. MBP Retina is much better.

Wish imac desktops were discounted to the same level!

New MBA models are about to be released, with more powerful processors and apparently lower price tag, so be aware that this is going to be the "old model" very soon. Still decent price tho, but you might want to consider this before buying.

Cold for this being only 1.3GHz Apple! I could surf the web and watch movies for less...

As always with JL, if you bought any of these models in the last 28 days you can get the price difference back.

Is this in store aswell. Have vouchers to spend....

You can use/ redeem JL vouchers online too - and click and collect.

Here's the details johnlewis.com/gif…ers

I would much sooner get an ordinary laptop with the right specs, and turn it into a Hackintosh, saving a few hundred.

they are lovely looking laptops, how hard would these be to convert to if im a luddite and used windows for my entire tech life?

Not a terrible deal, but not great either. 4GB RAM, dual core, 128GB of non-replaceable space. (IIRC, this model used onboard chips for the storage, or was that later models?) .
Ok if you want this exact model I suppose.

Only an extra £50 for the new models, but only 1 year warranty

Would something like this be a cheaper alternative (albeit up to 64gb)? Wondering if these work as well as the Storedge cards.
I have loads of high capacity micro SD's lying around.
