This company and another that sells on EBay have some really competitive pricing at the moment but I still haven't found any recent reviews. This company has some pretty poor reviews but they were a while ago. Anyone have recent experience?

i don't know either but they sell a lot on amazon and good reviews in there...
just took delivery of an i7 4790 8gb 970gtx system from them on Friday. fully set up with windows 10 and playing my free MGS TPP with no problem at all. runs everything I have thrown at it no problem GTA 5 runs like a dream. everything runs cool. I got the kryptonite case. although it doesn't get good reviews it is silent. a lot quieter than my old del xps 8500. memory came as one 8gb stick so just to find a good deal for another one and a decent ssd and all set. delivery was bang on time and every email was answered within a few hours. the guys will also customise to your needs if you call them.
also. go to their website and order as their prices are cheaper than on Amazon or eBay.

sorry if it wasn't clear, I know its a Nvidia GeForce but do you know what company has taken the card and enhanced it (or tried to if that makes sense) because as an example the Zotac's core clock is 1140 MHz where as EVGA is 1279 MHz so i'd be interested to know whats used?

Oh sorry didn't realise. I'm not massively technically minded so just took the info from the web page. Sorry I can't be any more help but sure some of the folk on here should be able to answer that soon

I forgot to mention that you can change almost anything in the specs.

I bought one in May - higher spec but not by much.

Love the machine. Had no issues whatsoever.

I recently wanted a gaming computer and found that their prices are better than building the computer yourself. I have had mine for a few months now, absolutely no problems. Contacted them at one point as I never received my free game code and I received that the next day. So no problems so far. Can't comment on repairs and refunds where companies often struggle though. Hope that helps - I got mine off amazon.

I haven't seen Freshtech offering any Skylake options yet.
Holy mother of God. That's an outrageously good deal. How is this not hotter?!

EDIT: oh wait it was only made hot 20 minutes ago. That's why.

Great value. Remember buying a custom 2500k build years ago for roughly the same price.

Rightly so, the price increase for such a tiny performance boost is outrageous, especially in gaming.
For gaming I'd rather have an unlocked i5 and a gtx 970
If it's just for gaming and general computer use then an i5 would just as good and cheaper. If it's being used for video editing and other heavy duty tasks the i7 stomps all over the i5.

Ancient, it is onlinetek. I actually ordered from them instead of this company. Just a gut feeling really as there wasn't much in the price between the two.
Good price. Also in the GPU description we can read "Includes Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain Game"
Hot !
Hmm page 2 and no mention of "it has no operating system" and all the ways to get it, wait for it.
Useless

Useless, do you mean one along these lines as a general computer is what I am currently searching for? freshtechsolutions.co.uk/cus…tml

This, there is a big difference between the 960 and 970 for gaming. Between the 4690k and 4790k the benefits are mostly limited to professional processing tasks.
My son has asked me to look for a gaming computer for Xmas. He wants to play a game called Ark evolved. I don't want it to be out of date for a game he wants to play in less than a year.

So would this computer be adequate for his needs?

Many thanks for your help

Current minimum specs for ARK evolved

OS: 64-Bit Windows 7 Service Pack 1, or Windows 8
Processor: 2 GHz Dual-Core 64-bit CPU
Memory: 4000 MB RAM
Graphics: DirectX10 Compatible GPU with 1 GB Video RAM
DirectX: Version 10
Hard Drive: 20000 MB available space

So this PC is alot better than that
Would he notice much difference between this and the i5 that scathel has provided a link for? The difference could go towards monitor etc but need to future proof to an extent.

Thanks again for your help

Hi scooter, what was the build like? Was the cabling tidy etc?

calling was very tidy. the case let's the cables run behind the motherboard and all others were tied together and channelled through appropriate holes . the only real cables I could see through the window are the two running to power the 970. the others were run along the case onto the hard drives and DVD so out of the way. I actually had to cut some loose to install my other drives then just tied them back to where they had them. a very neat setup and was well packaged. the video card was a Zotac branded one as well.
Bought one for a friends son bout 18 months ago. Bloody awful build.
1) Case was far to small for any upgrades.
2) Cable management was....well there wasnt any.
3) Psu was unbranded, cheap and nasty.
4) Motherboard wasnt good enough for the Cpu that was in it hence was bottlenecking.

From wat i see its not a great deal, that mobo is a £30 piece of rubbish. The case (£40) aint a nice case.
The 4790 is a great cpu and will be fine with the stock cooler that it comes with.
The PSU is not bad but is the Corsair budget line.
I think wat im trying is if im gonna spend that much on a pc id rather make sure i have quality components.
When i buy components i look and research everywhere b4 i buy.
Im not going to vote either way but i cant recommend Freshtech at all.
Maybe their builds have got a bit better from some of the comments here but from that build their quality hasnt.

I would like to point out that ARK is in early access and is incredibly poorly optimized.
Even a triple Titan X setup will not run it at max at 60fps.

Low end systems are able to run ARK but you'll be lucky to get 30fps on the lowest settings (looking like an n64 game).

Funny that cos im running a Gigabyte 980 and im getting 80fps on highest settings.
Ark has improved its optimisation somewat in the past few months and will get better.

Yes! And they are ****! Returned my PC last week. It came damaged (a crack on a case's window) and the video card was not properly plugged in. VIDEO CARD! On a gaming PC was not working! I was sceptical about buying it because the price was too good. And my intuition was right - for this price expect average service and poorly built product. Nothing like Scan 3XS systems.
I have a couple of questions...

1. I am a serious adult now and really just need to use it for office work... But their is a tiny bit of me that wants to have the ability to game too. If I am planning to use this for mainly office work is there a down side to this system?

2. Where do I get an operating system from. I've read on here that people have been burned using reddit software swap.
Very tempted.

Honestly..you should have gone with an i5 4690k anda gtx 970. An i5 is as good as an i7 for general / gaming (Unless you specifically need to use photoshop / rendering / video editing > then i7 is a better choice)
Edited by: "thebuyer" 6th Sep 2015
As has been stated, for gaming I'd much rather a K series i5, such as the 4690k, although, with that board bottlenecking the system, it'd be a waste. The PSU in this is average, and if theres one thing a lot of folk have learned the hard way, its don't cheap out on your PSU. The GTX 960 is an okay card, not the Godly spec in the description. Oh, and this doesn't include an OS, which you need to factor in to your costing, which also means this isn't a complete solution for someone looking for a pre-built PC.

Edit: In case anyone is interested, can build the exact same spec for £602.47 using PC Part Picker, so £36 for someone to build the machine for you, which isn't bad.
