If you don't have a broken PC not sure why you'd be rushing to pay the current inflated price. No stock = price gouge. Intel's fault though obvioulsy.

Probably the same reason as thousands of people wait for a new reg plate to come out before buying a new car.

Screw these price gougers, will be 50 cheaper in a couple of months.

Spire.co.uk

you wont get many as this processor is on shortage ..... possibly Intel released it but only on paper (and couple of lucky ones) as you cant buy them anywhere, they sold below the production cost to compete with AMD.

Says they have no stock until new years eve.

Better hope cancellation is simple with eBuyer. No-one placing preorders now will receive their 8700K in the 1st November shipment. Most stores still have preorders to fulfil from 3 weeks ago.

Friend of mine ordered the 8700k from Ebuyer when it was saying £349.99 the day after release. Anyway... they went to bill him and said they were charging the higher price of £384.99.

He complained and they apparently reverted it to the old price, he checked it and they've actually charged him £274.98 (the price of an i5)

Win for him!

It's amazing what passes for a deal these days lol, cold.

By the time this thing is in stock we will have cannonlake, Zen+ and the z370 will be obsolete.
Its just intel trying to stop Ryzen sales.
8700k is a £330 chip. Maybe less as it needs deliding to exploit its potential.

Might be the least scalpy scalper, but this is still an inflated price so not a good deal for me.

price has increased now as people are prepaired to pay it apparently.

Care to explain how is this "much better"? Considering many would prefer Ryzen. You troll.

Cars with the new reg plate are worth more second hand so not comparable.
Cold for me.

Why is someone stating that the item in question is better than the opposition a troll?
Surely the person who erroneously claims the opposite is better is the clear troll?
Read the reviews and see that this is clearly superior to Ryzen overall because it has no major inconsistencies unlike Ryzen.
Look at DAW performance with Ryzen for example as it's abysmal.

This shouldn't be more than £350. They will go down to £300-£350 range by the new year. For whom planning to build low budget (i3 8100, i5 8400) coffee lakes, I'd recommend them to wait Q1 2018 for H370, H310 and B360 chipset motherboards which will be much cheaper than Z370.

Cold, I bought it for £358 from Scan, which is the RRP AFAIK?

What's crazy is I bought my i7 4790K and Hero VII for £389 back in 2014, what's happened to PC prices?

He's trolling mate.
The statement isnt fact and you know it. You even say it, 'overall' not 'across the board'. Big difference, especially when its way more expensive and the small fact of unavailable.

Our currency is crap and Intel taking the pee for years even with AMD recent come back silly people are still willing to pay over the odds.

How are you finding the upgrade compared to the 4790k?
