I think that i5 series are the best. Yes i7 has slightly more power but those £70-£80 saved can invest in better VGA or some SSD (Crucial m4 64GB)

the unlocked 2500k from ebuyer at £155 (with free delivery option) makes more sense to me

Maybe not every time as the chip being unlocked is not the only difference between the k and non-k version ark.intel.com/Com…209, but, yes, for general use, the k-version is a better choice as long as it goes with p67/z67 mobo and you are intending to overclock the system .Otherwise, there is no point in spending extra money, even £1.
