I think this is quite nice considering it has an i5 processor and GTX 970. You can find Windows on eBay for relatively cheap or using your own method...

Personally, great deal for me

for a pre-built pc that's very good value for money

It comes to about £640 on pcpartpicker in case anyone is interested. Put a years Warranty on it and its a decent deal. Plus you get the witcher to test it out too.

Nice pre made GTA box too if anyone wants to play at very high 1080p.

g2a.com is cheap, relatively. The codes have been allegedly said to be pulled from working machines.

Hot, even though the advantage of building your own with retail box components, rather than OEM, is that some will come with more than a year's warranty and that you get to cherry pick to your preferences. Still, within the price constraints, I like the components they chose. I make it £626.40 if you use just Amazon, possibly closer to £600 if you use multiple dealers. Kudos to FreshTechSolutions for fitting a fairly decent power supply, an area where a lot of vendors cut corners to keep the price down. Also great to see such a detailed component listing. Good find, OP, have some more heat.

You can get a used windows 7 professional of ebay for about £20 to £30 with a Dell licence (usually) which can be legitimately activated.
If you get a genuine version Windows 8 from 'elsewhere' and the licence can't be activated, it still seems to run without restriction. No black screens. No pop up warning messages. YMMV

If these are corporate versions of W8 or 8.1 professional (the others are out of stock), they may be cancelled at any time by M$ and they won't be upgradable to Windows 10, I don't think

I read that even pirated versions of Win 7 and 8 will be eligible for free upgrade to Win 10 on The Register website. I guess MS want to attract customers to their OS and then sell them licenses to Office 365 etc.?

The 970 is a problem card. I'd avoid. Google 970 3.5gb for more on it's issues.

Can anyone comment on the mobo Gigabyte H81M-S2H, is it reliable. Not many reviews on Amazon or Newegg

Will also need decent cpu cooling if overclocking is intended

Windows 10 Consumer preview is free (for now).

This is true. Windows 10 will be free for pirate version users. Its a good move considering you cant control piracy. Hollywood never learns.

Yeah MS then said it won't be a genuine version of Windows 10.

I wouldn't recommend overcolcking because it's not an unlocked processor nor is it a Z series motherboard.

Microsoft have never said Windows 10 would be free for pirates. They simply said that there would be an option for pirated versions to update to legitimate versions - at a price.

The 970 is a great value for money card. It doesn't need 4gb of dedicated RAM to still be one of the better GPU's out there at the moment. And in a prebuilt PC for under £600 it's worth every penny.

regardless of this issue its still an amazing card which performs as advertised.

its not really possible to overclock this processor. tweaking the blck frequency (if your bios supports it) will mess up everything, such as RAM, PCIe lanes, SATA etc.

Yep google it and then you'll see it really isn't a problem at all

Read some good initial reviews for Freshtech builds but then having owned for a while they get slated on failing components. No experience of them myself but worth a full check before buying.

cheapest? or cheapest legal way

GTX870 =/= 4GB

Sorry, high-res gamers

seems a pretty good deal, shame it only has 8GB ram

Both of you clearly have some reading comprehension issues.

"If a device was considered non-genuine or mislicensed prior to the upgrade, that device will continue to be considered non-genuine or mislicensed after the upgrade,"

The upgrade is free.. so if you got a pirated windows 8 you can upgrade to a pirated windows 10. This decision was made to avoid problems in China where a large percentage of computers are loaded with pirated windows.

8gb is plenty

8Gb is the sweet spot

The only sad thing about this deal is when I'm pricing up pcs twice the price it really reminds me about diminishing returns and how little difference it will make spending more in terms of playing a game.

SSD, snazzier case, 16gb ram, fancier mobo, i7. Double the price and I probably won't see any noticble difference ingame

I'd maybe budget for a 120GB+ SSD to use as a boot drive, it will make a huge difference to responsiveness and well worth around £50 for the only upgrade you'll really need

Do not buy cheap windows license off eBay or key sites, they are all pulled from mass buisniss machines so you have another 49 people using your same key! No more legitimate that pirating windows IMO.

Download the windows technical preview and hope Microsoft rewards its testers, they haven't locked us out yet!

+1 on that, biggest noticeable upgrade per £

This has me so tempted as my next gaming platform. Don't know about leaving consoles though

Noob question but will this play GTAV at 1080p60? And would the image settings be as high as the PS4 or higher? Ive been out of the PC loop for a LONG time and my PS4 isnt really setting my world on fire any longer. Im looking for a pre-built gaming PC that's a nice step up from my current consoles. If its costing double the price of a PS4 Id be expecting at least double the performance

With a Nvidia 970 it will easily yes. You can all Ultra on settings (no AA) as well.

Has anyone here ordered before from FreshTechSolutions? they have some nice deals but the reviews i'v found online have been very mixed. would love to hear if one of you have bought from them.

This is a great deal. Under £600 for a PC capable of playing GTA5 at 1080p near max settings.

Reddit, I bought a legit Windows 8.1 for £10.

Normally I wouldn't give heat to a pretty built but for someone without the technical know how, this a good deal

The graphics card alone is ~£270!
