be aware of scans return policy

Original Poster

What is scans return policy? I always see deals on here from scan, so i guessed theyre an ok company to buy from?

Just to let you know there is a better deal around. This week Over-clockers have been running this model at £227.99 with Operation FP: Red River Free! Check link here over-clockers.co.uk/sho…ail

For some reason it is censoring Over-clockers so please copy and paste but remove hyphen on Over"-"clockers?!

My advice,......... wait a month for Bulldozer.
Even If its not faster, it may be considerable cheaper & force intel to drop their prices ;o)

For some things where there is a chance of failure on the product then Scans return policy may be a disadvantage but for a CPU it's pretty irrelevant. Besides being DOA when was the last time you heard of a problem with a CPU under normal operation....never.

It's almost impossible to kill it with overclocking either due to the cpu shutdown safety measures.Fan on the heatsink fails, not a problem they down clock then shut off. So besides doing something not covered by warranty your CPU failing inside your warranty period is probably less than winning the lottery.

the retail version is well worth the extra £4 since it gives you a cooler.

Scan have the worst aftersales, even worse than pixmania, they refuse refunds, refuse postage on faulty items, and if they try replace, they give you lesser items,

I used to buy all my stuff from these clowns, until I had to send something back, worst experience of my life, check other forums, I am not the only one.

Returns aren't that bad, I bought a i5 2500k and had it in my system overclocked for a week, then decided I wanted to get the i7 2600k instead, So boxed it back up and the refunded me and I got the 2600k.

One thing though I didn't use the retail fan, If I had they wouldn't of let me return the item.

I totally agree with you in regards to the aftersales. They refused to refund me the returns postage on faulty ram which they sent me.

I must just be lucky, but Scan have always been ace for me. I've never neede to return anything but support has been very easy to get when unsure how to get things fixed or set up.

I have to disagree, Scan has always been brilliant to me.Can't say a single bad word about their CS.
