Good price if you're buying for work... but if it's for home use I'd go with a used one for around £150

It's not really a CPU I would recommend for most scenarios.

Sure, you could say that about pretty much all cpus on the market, but as OP posted this as a hot deal I assumed it had some benefit for home users, as those are the primary users of the site, rather than just being a pretty middle of the road workstation cpu....

6 cores @ 1.9Ghz isn't that great. I'm rocking dual E5-2670 (v1s) in my workstation which are 2.7-3.3GHz 8 cores each. They're far cheaper than this deal on ebay and far faster while retaining ECC support. Efficiency's another matter but I guess it depends on how close to the claimed 85W this chip goes, the 2670s claim 115W and hit 110W actual.
