While I linked to this in my other deal that one is now out of stock so I thought I'd post this seperately.

While not a good a deal as the 500GB USB3.0 one I posted it is still a decent GB per pound ratio.

And again not a good product description but here you go:

Product Information
Take files anywhere in style with the Intenso Portable External Hard Drive USB 2.0 with protection suite. It’s a perfect choice if you need constant access to your music, photos, files, and entire digital world. Sporting a sleek lightweight but durable enclosure, the Intenso is the perfect companion to your laptop or netbook computer.

With the robust software suite included, the Intenso is a user-friendly choice, regardless of whether you’re on a Mac or a PC. Intenso Backup Assistant is included to help you manage your backups, so there’s no need to worry about losing data.

And let’s not forget this baby’s USB 2.0 powered - powered directly from the USB port on your PC. No separate power supply is needed (although an optional cable may be required for the few computers that limit power from the USB port).

System requirements:
Latest version of Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7/Mac OS X 10.x
Minimum free disk space: 600MB recommended

the hardrive shown in the picture is a usb 3 drive
ordered 1 so hope it is

Good find OP.

They appear to have made a mistake with the "usual price" for this drive.

Does anyone know how easy these are to take out of the enclosure and mount as an internal disk?

Amazon mention that this drive comes as FAT32 standard.

hmmm tempting.....

Saw your other deal and IMO this one is worth posting too. Agree that it is good price and hope to see some other reductions in storage price this easter.

Thanks for posting. Ordered one. Don't really mind whether its USB 2.0 or 3.0

Note though, I don't see John Lewis offering warranty with this drive, but they seem to offer it with every other one??

Can you take hard drive from it and put inside laptop?

what inside? 3.5 sata II?? i need upgrade for PC? price looks good..

I think it's usb 2.0

no the price doesn't look good if you need a 3.5inch, there is another thread atm for a 2tb 3.5inch @ 69.99 which is one of best prices for a long time.

Also need a new HDD for laptop, this is cheaper than any internals iv seen. Only problem is it'd void the warranty wouldn't it?

the cool

would void the warranty and you need to be careful with the actual height of the drive inside.
even though its a 2.5inch some are fatter than others.
most laptops take 9.5mm and many 1tb are 12.5mm

There's also a 2nd picture of the box that clearly states "USB 2.0" on it so it's probably the usb2 one.

I would be careful - most portable USB drives don't have a SATA header, there's a USB controller board attached directly to the platters.
In other words, when you take it apart the internal board hasn't got a SATA connector.

No if its SATA 3.5 drive no need external power supply
Also for SATA 2.5 no need external power supply
Only if u got old 1.1 usb post u need usb cable with 2 usb male connectors on other end because power from 1 USB version 1.1 is not enough so u have to plug cable to two usb sockets..

If it is a 3.5" disk you will need a power supply. 2.5" drives are bus powered. WD and Samsung 2.5" bus powered external drives tend not to have a SATA interface but have the usb soldered directly onto the drive. With the rest, you will need to check before buying.

back in stock then out of stock again
so keep your eye on the link as they probally will come back in stock again

in stock again

Just picked mine up today. Smart little unit, only down-side (for me) is that it uses a micro USB (just means I need to have another cable available!)

It is definitely USB 2.0, though. The packaging states a 2 Year Warranty.

Picked mine up today and opened it up. It has a Seagate Momentus drive inside and it's only 9.5 thick.

anyone know how to find what brand the drive is without opening it?

Looks good. Heat added.

Back in stock!

Ordered one yesterday and picked it up from Waitrose earlier - free delivery as stated on the website.

Seems to be 'assembled' in Germany - lets hope it matches the quality control of their cars!

2 year warranty written on the box.

FAT32 formatted out of the box.

Y mini USB cable provided.

Seems to be taking an age to back up about 20GB of info atm...

Dimensions for those that want them are:

12.6cm x 7.8cm x 1.8cm with very nice rounded corners.

Oh, did I mention HEAT for the price..!!!!!
