very good - thanks for sharing

A good simple 'no frills' portable drive, no software included.

Bought this last time around - very good, and cheapest 1TB storage drive around.
Used it to remove the drive and use elsewhere, still cheaper than buying bare drive!

Got this last time as well, works perfectly, recommended at this price.

I got it last time too. Nice and compact. Seems v. fast using USB3.0 and quiet. Too soon to comment on reliability ofc but *fingers crossed* Was watching 1TB portables for months and £39.99 was my biting point.

It's been a long time since a 1tb drive has come down to <£40..

Hot!!!

Should work on xbox one yes?

I've had one of these for a while. It's been fast and reliable. The only reason I'm not buying another now it's £40 again is that I've forgot why I wanted another one

Bought this the last time it was posted on here, It failed within 2 days Good drive when it worked.

missed last deal and bought the 2tb toshiba. wish i can return that and get this.

What sort of drive was inside?

Tempted but need a new laptop before I buy.

This is a very good price for 1TB of storage. I paid £75 about two years ago for 500GB

I've got a White version.. there pretty good... no complaints from me... might have to invest in another one!

They also don't need a separate power supply unlike some 1tb hard drives which is a bonus

Good drive and mine has just arrived after ordering it yesterday. Price has gone up though as yesterday it was only £33 but it did not have free delivery, although I spent a bit more to get free shipping for over £50. Still given it heat though as still a good price.

Says free delivery and then charges for it. I don't trust people who do this.

Its free postage just change delivery on ordering
Already bought one for the same price elsewhere, working well.

Intenso though... I'd rather pay £5 more for the Toshiba, Amazon.

Had a 750gb version of this which recently failed, the drive inside the case was a Toshiba.

How long did it take for everyone else's drive to be delivered

Orderd mine on the 30/7/ They said about a week. I recently bought one
from another seller so its not a issue.

Ordered on Tuesday arrived yesterday (Thursday) with free delivery option

I've read mostly positive reviews about Intenso. They're a German company for a start but probably not as well known as the likes of Samsung, Toshiba, WD, etc. I've had an Intenso portable for years and it's still going strong. Sure, some will fail and you can read about these failures on Amazon, just like drives from all the other manufacturers. I get the impression that the general consensus on Intenso drives is that they're pretty reliable. Seagate, on the other hand, have a notoriously bad record but you'll still find plenty of happy customers. It's quite the lottery when it comes to hard drives. Stick with what you know, that's my advice, and don't let one bad purchase put you off.

You do realise that not every one has USB 3 on their devices? If you … You do realise that not every one has USB 3 on their devices? If you want USB 3 why are you commenting on a thread you have no interest in. Useless comment.

I'm sorry but I disagree. I'm in the market for a cheap usb drive and without the comment above I probably would have plumped for this. I only have usb2 at the mo but would like the slightly more expensive usb3 one when (or if) I come to upgrade. Usb3 works on usb2 right? just at a slower speed?

we use these to backup customers servers, great value drives

I removed my disk to put in laptop. Easy enough to separate case (I use guitar picks - bought a few of various thickness for opening laptops, it avoids damage from a screwdriver).

The internal drive in mine was a Samsung ST1000LM024

Used to buy Toshibas to do this (cheaper than bare drive), but they've started to solder the USB port onto the main hard disk ports on some models (make the external drive slightly shorter).
