That's a fair comment - I guess I didn't categorise it appropriately. Don't think I can change now? Sorry.
Min payment £71 a month?! oO credit card with 0% promo is better choice ...

0% purchases card for 24 months would be better choice meaning no deposit, longer repayment period and option to balance transfer at no cost at the end if you find yourself in financial hardship.
To people unhappy with using credit it's not fundamentally a bad thing, it's using future income today to buy something that you need right now.
E.g. if you work for yourself doing design and need an Apple as your device just broke it would be stupid not to buy this as it will facilitate future cash inflows.
Conversely, someone who is up to their eyes in debt living a consumptionist lifestyle shouldn't buy this as it'll fuel their problems and end up just being an expensive doorstop along with all your other tat.

Min purchase £849
Minus deposit £84.90 = £764.10
Minimum payments £71 per month X 12 = £852
Meaning you would have repaid it in more like 10/11 months if you took out the minimum. Am I wrong?

Yes but not everyone wants a credit card and this way some people will find this better for them as it's paid off after 12 months
Do you have to be credit checked or is it just the deposit and can you put a bigger deposit down? Also can you get the iPhone 7 plus x

The credit card offer Section 75 protection. A JL loan doesn't.

Why would you need section 75 protection for something from John Lewis? It's hardly a fly by night operation. You have a longer guarantee buying it from them then Apple.

And what about after the Apple/JL warranty?
The sale of goods act covers items for 6 years. Section 75 is best for when retailers go bankrupt or refuse to refund neither of which is likely with John Lewis.

Trust a Welshman to like getting sheep in his store
Need to spend £849 so would have to add something and i think it needs to be another apple product! And it has to be done instore!

The very one was 20% off and you only needed to spend £249 so would cover most iPhones! This is bad deal sorry
