International Herald Tribune newspaper - FREE 4 WEEK TRIAL

Found 7th May 2009Made hot 8th May 2009
In all my deal-searching years, this is the first time I have seen the IHT offer a free 4 week, no obligation trial!

For many the International Herald Tribune is an unknown paper, but it is one of the world's most respected and best selling papers. Personally, I like reading it because it covers a whole range of topics and the journalism is top class.

Normally retails for £1.30 an issue from the newsstands, so a 4-week free trial delivered to your doorstep every morning is an amazing bargain! The plus side is that during the signup process they don't ask for any credit cards or direct debit details, so no worries about being stung with a 1-year subscription if you forget to cancel at the end of the trial.

I know the IHT might not be everyone's cup of tea, but veteran HUKDs will know this is the first time they're doing a free trial like this, and this is (IMO) quality journalism.

Heat added! Great find!

I am trying to sign up but it appears to be broken at the moment with the "Unknow SOA service error".

Sweet, signed up. Prefixed myself with 'AMBASS' by mistake. The postman will think i'm a proper pompus twerp.

I managed to do it, just found another link. There's another promotion code, SEM7 with the same offer which is easy to find.

Does anyone know how quickly the subscription starts?

I just rang up and spoke to them and apparently my first copy will arrive on Saturday. At the end of the subscription you will receive an invoice to continue which you will need just need to ring up and cancel.

I haven't received my first copy yet,b ut thanks to TimRogers for following up and the update.
It won't be unusual for the first copy to take a week or two to start arriving.

It's worth giving them a ring and asking when your subscription will start...they can look you up in their system and find out when you're due to start receiving.

The number is 00800 4 448 7827 - don't worry about the number, it's an International Freephone. You will need to choose option six and then you will go through to an operator.

Just signed up.

The start date was on the sign up page

Looking forward to receiving mine on Saturday. I will report back about delivery times and take a photo of it! I'm within the M25 so theoretically it should arrive before 6am.

Just got my second issue today, about a week after signing up, so not too bad Comes in the standard plastic watertight covering, and arrives early in the morning!

But alas I see that the free trial has now expired

I got an invoice as well, but I don't understand if cancelling is neccessary- becuase how can they charge me if they don't have my details?
