Previous best price on here was above £50 and its a lot more expensive at Amazon right now.

This is a 3.5 drive and externally powered, but it is energy star approved so slightly more efficient than the older drives and Iomega is a great make.

Full specs on the deal page.

The deal link seems to have been edited and not by me.

the deal page is : comet.co.uk/p/3…703

Its wierd.

My browser is showing this at £46.99 when I go from that link too, but then when i click on it, goes to £48.99. Same as the other Hitachi one. Must just be my work machine playing up?

A Comet guy said it would just need to be re-formatted to be used with a Mac. I'm sure I've read in other posts that any backup software that's provided tends to be incompatible with the Mac so you'll need a Mac software to carry out backups.

46.99 with free delivery nice one!

any info about it's reliability?

Has anyone got one yet and if so any comments on operation, noise etc.?

no have reserved one though, although i would prefer a 2.5 inch that doesnt need a mains power supply

so i think i will leave it at comet after all

Off to get mine.

True the lovely 1TB portables (USB powered) perfect for lappies or commuting are getting very cheap compared to these bricks. I love my 500GB WD. However these 3.5" ones (bricks with power adaptors) are faster and better for daily use with desktops, different horses for different courses. Off to get mine.

Basic and normal but iz nice! Slim & good design. Better to trust a few 1TBs and mirror crucial file backups twice in case of failures than put all eggs into one 2TB basket. TY OP.

Thanks OP

I'm having issues with it showing in windows 7 64 bit-anyone else struggling?

The box states 32 bit compatibility but Iomega website specification page states that it's qualified for use with 64 bit.

Any thoughts?

Thanks, picked one up today

£44.99 now.
