Keyring attachment??? for a 3.5" hard drive. Does that sound odd to anyone else?

Good price though but not much of a saving on its original price.

Good find.

For a 500Gb drive I don't think you can do much better than this.

it neither it the power adaptor that i have to lug round with me for this thing attached to my keys. :w00t:

just bought a 70 quid 1TB external hard drive. 50 quid for 500GB doesn't seem that remarkable to me, but then I haven't looked at other 500Gb drive prices, making this entire post pretty redundant.

Your always going to get a better £ per GB rating the more GBs you are buying but some people do not want a 1tb drive, personally i am in the market for another external hard drive but i would rather have 2x500gb hard drives that 1x1tb as i like to have one external hard drive backing up the other as 1 tb is a lot of data to loose when the hard drive fails and i can not afford 2x1tb drive to keep all of my data backed up.

then buy a 1tb and create 2 partitions

Still on the same hardware. Disk fails all data gone.

How is that going to help when the drive fails? and it will fail at some point.

Up until a short time ago the 500GB's were going at about £60 and the 1TB's at £140. It's only been the last few months that the 1TB's have really dropped in price.

Different drive if the picture is to be believed. Been using the silver version for years (from back when the biggest was a 320GB) and never had a problem. Not so sure about this black one, which IS the basic/value one mentioned on that site as i'm not tempted to buy it.

if you have free del at scan, currently the Seagate Freeagent 500gb is £48.29, which has a 5 year warranty.

I've got one of those. Only nice thing I can say about it is that it spins the drive down, hence it is actually likely to last the warranty:thumbsup: It's a shame they're such an odd shape and not stackable so take up too much space.

Got one today very very nice. good price too.
