Hi all, my first deal so apologies if it's here already (I did search first!).

For under £40 for 500gb hard drive seems a very decent deal, I thought my WD 250gb for £65 from Amazon recently was good value!

The reviews on the site were positive, and that was at £99.

Is a misprice?, Very very cheap!

Sounds like a misprice, but worth a go!!

Should be today (23rd) deal of the day at £79.99, so sounds like a misprice..

wholy ****. they wont honour that price. But I wlll

give it a go. good find

Just ordered one at that price. Thanx

Maybe order has been accepted with a delivery date of 30th July. Excellent.

Just a polite request if I could please, Could people only order 1 or 2 max, Then there is less chance of Ebuyer realising as quick = A higher change of getting this great deal!

Ordering via google chekout maybe a good option?

They did accept some of the vista home premiums at £39, so a 50/50 chance of getting i'd say

thanks ordered and confirmed , we will see if i get it

Worth a punt. Not going to happen but what the hell:-D

Ordered 1 with super saver (maybe shoulda paid the surcharge for more speed and more chance of getting one). I did the free shipping as I am not bothered either way of getting it.

Me too. Gotta be in it to win it lol.

Ordered one via Google Checkout (only because i couldn't remember my ebuyer login details). Worth a go, excellent price if gets shipped at that.

Ordered one too. Tempted not to give it heat so to stop the idiots who comes on and ruins it for everyone.

Can I just say one thing. When Ebuyer cancel the orders (as they no doubt will) can we not start slagging the company and just let it go as a bit of fun:thumbsup:

Yup it's quite clear on the front page it should be £79.99, it's just for giggles.

/me waits for the first person to come on saying they ahve ordered hundreds of HDs.

It still beats other prices for 500GB Though

Would be pretty awesome if we do get it tho.

Would go well with the Vostro misprice I bought last week

Great spot - ordered one myself....now to wait for the cancellation email.

So, what grounds are they going to give to break the contract?

Gone for one through google checkout, really wanted a SATA drive but for £40 I will just take the HDD out and use it as an internal IDE drive. Super, thanks

LOL it's pretty much expected isn't?

Is this IDE or Sata?

I just got another email from ebuyer:

We will email you when the items are dispatched from our warehouse.

Nice!! Maybe we will get them then???

the fact that it asks me the question "where did you hear about this website" and provides the option "hot uk deals" makes me wonder if things like this are deliberate "false advertising" marketing scams..

If you logged into Ebuyer before doing GC you'll also notice that your goods are 'allocated' pmsl.

They've only sold 19 in the last hour (it was on 452 when I saw it first). So at the moment not blindingly obvious it's a big error - and is still showing as £39.36 on the site...

Just got a confirmation email for delivery by 30 July, and a follow up email with a shipping date of 27 July... so fingers crossed...

For the few hundred quid they may lose on a few people getting these tonight before they tighten it up, it'd be worth it in the number of potential new visitors they'd have attracted to the site, and the good word of mouth from those who benefitted All good publicity!

It still doesn't mean much, Apple took money on the 1TB misprice but then didnt send anything :-(

But there's a chance

lol ordered mine after you and the delivery date is 27th :whistling:

Oh dead Ebuyer you silly silly automated service. The first email was cancelable, but this second one is a legally binding contract.

I can see people argueing now.

How did u guys get a delivery date of 27th and I got 30th?

Did u pay extra for this? was gonna go for next business day but cost too much

They always have some sort of getout clause though :-(

If you were to threaten them with legal action and quote relevant laws they would have to honour it. I ain't bothered, so wouldn't do a thing. But you could.....

Yep, for crissakes just order one. Multiple orders will just alert them to the misprice. Saying that, some people just can't help theirselves
Here's to hoping ...

ps. I got the Vista at £39.99 too, so it isn't so far fetched that they just want to budge a few at a special price. eBuyer have been known to do stuff like that.

The problem is their deal of the day (£5 off the old price is hardly a deal TBH) would be over in an hour or so (down to 398 in stock and that's gonna disappear quick). Come morning they cancel them all and back to nice stock levels.

gone for it. worth a punt.
