Priced at £59.99 but has 25% off so scanned at just under £45, not a bad price for a 1tb hdd.

Its a 3.5inch and needs an external power adapter, they had 4 left in the bestbuy i went to.

That's a really good price if you've got a Best Buy near you and they've got one in stock. Where'd you get yours, Mr G Brown?

Ah sorry meant to say, it was the merry hill one not far out of b`ham. Popped in on the way to work, took 2 for £90, left 4 on the bottem shelf. There were others that were dnla (or something) compatible but were more expensive and i was not sure what the advantage of that is?!

I had a 500GB Iomega hard drive, it broke after only a couple of months of fairly light use, I sent it back to them to get it fixed under warranty. They sent a 320GB version back, I tried to rectify the situation but they choose to ignore my emails. They didn't treat me well so I will not be buying from them again or recommending them to anyone. So voted COLD!

If they were DLNA Certified chances are they were network hard drives meaning they can plug into the network at your house and share data. DLNA is used promarily for media centres so they can locate the drives and share media etc.

DNLA means that you can stream stuff to your (DNLA compatible) TV wirelessly (it piggybacks on WIFI). Its a great thing to have once you have a couple of devices that support it (my phone does* which means I can show photos and videos I took on it on the TV just by getting it out of my pocket!)

* Its a Windows Phone but lots of other phones also support DNLA

What a great price, shame the nearest to me is 45 miles away. Heat given.

Went into Hedge End Southampton store yesterday, quite a few drives available. Picked up a Seagate 2tb home network drive for £74.95, the was about 5 Seagate 2tb USB2.0 there as well for the same price. Few Iomega, Lacie, WD drives with 25% off. There was more portable drives than desktop ones. Other items i looked at BluRay and DVD's you can buy cheaper elsewhere. As is the case of most of the other items on the shelves.

Most ridiculous reason I've heard.

One bad experience so that means that any subsequent product is also bad?

I agree with calldean ,Most ridiculous reason I've heard.
I was bitten by a dog once, doesn't mean that the next time
that the next time a dog bites me that I will not like it!

Yes they didn't treat me well, so I will never buy there products again and will always tell others to go elsewhere.

When my Western Digital drive broke last week, I went on to the website entered the details and a new drive was in my hands 2 days later, allowing me to transfer files across and send the other one back for repair within 30 days. They constantly kept me informed of what was happening and how the next process would work. Amazing customer service means I will buy from them again and recommend them to my friends & family.

i was in there today picked up the 1tb western digital drive for £48

Just retaliate in advance and bite the next dog that you see.

sort of multiple experiences there:
unreliable drive (that specific single drive)
incompetence
poor communication

dog bit him, tripped him up and cocked his leg on him

Picked one up earlier in my local what a find!!! heat added

Tempted to buy this and rip the drive out of it. Cheap 1TB harddrive considering they are around double this at the moment.

Can anyone see a problem with me doing this? Just i'm building a new rig in about a month and I REFUSE to pay the current prices. Anyone think this is possible?
