Picked this up today from the Leeds Briggate store - cheapest I've seen

Realise it is small by today's standards, but my computer has 80Gb and so this is 3x capacity so will suit my needs - realise not for everyone

online price is £44.99 so you might have to be lucky

Do you it would work if I reserved one at £45 and then went into store and they'd had it at £30 instore all along?

]Direct Link for the 320GB version that costs £49.99

Edit: Thought it was the same model, but is the 320GB model. ]250GB model link

hot! if you can find stock

Heat added. This is a great price for a portable drive (requiring no power brick).

Thanks OP. How many left in the Leeds store? I may be heading in tomorrow if they have plenty of stock.

Will be calling my local Conet in the morning. This is just what I'm looking for.

family photos and videos - 3 to 4 copies of each.....if you dont have more than 1 copy...actually id say 3 minimum otherwise you are a muppet.....movies and videos are near 600gb...doesnt take long to fill it with a HD camcorder and DSLR raw pics you know...trust me the hassle aint worth it if you disk goes belly up and disks are cheap.....two drives (2tb total) are near empty at the mo

can the OP find out if its Fat 32 ????

needs to be fat 32 to work with the ps3 as a PnP drive for films and music ...

i asume it is NTFS though ...but some samsung 250gb drives are fat32 ..

i had a buffalo 250gb drive and that was fat32 ...

It doesn't matter, you can plug it into your PC and format it as you want, FAT32/NTFS/etc

sounds good - was it marked up at £29.99 or did it just scan at this price?

Will have a try at my local store for they are showing to have stock if I select collect in store.
Can anyone comment on how reliable Iomega are with their external HDD range?

Cheers, wish me luck!

Just been in to Chester store. Is marked up at £44.99 still. Booo.

Just called Derby store and Sandiacre store.

Derby store - 250Gb out of stock, 320Gb is £54.99 (!)
Sandiacre store - 250Gb in stock at £44.99

so not a nationwide deal then

Just checked Dunfermline store, in stock.... £44.99 :x

Daybrook, Nottingham store coming up at £44.99... got them to scan it to check...

Think the original poster just got lucky - Popped into Basildon this morning - just 1 left but marked up as £44.99 - got them to price check at the till just in case but scanned at the same price. Time to expire to save a few wasted journeys!

Unfortunately what you say is totally true!

I have tried being totally ruthless and cutting down on what I keep, but a 1Tb drive now seems so small, and the only way to be sure you will still have them this time next year, is have multiple copies.

update:
Oh... I forgot to mention - it is not just bulky data, but those that don't "need" all the space don't know about another vital use for plenty of space - as 99% don't keep a copy (Image) of their Operating system either, they moan when their PC gets a virus or starts running ultra slow or the disk fails, and they then face HOURS or even days of work to get it up and running properly again. Ghosting or imaging is easy to do, but it too takes up space, well, multiple coipies do, but I don't suffer those problems at all.

£44.99 in the Bristol Cribs Causeway Branch. Got them to check the computer for the right price too.

Must be a local offer?

Hendon branch had one in stock for the full £44.99 - oh well...

Why expire when there still availible! I went in today to get one and they were reduced further, now down to £27.99
